The views from the top are magnificent and are worth the steep hike up to the top. To get to the start of this hike you can take a boat from Paraty Mirim for 250 reais (return) which takes approx. 20 minutes each way. Make sure you got plenty of water with you as you will need it. The walk to the top will take you between 60 and 90 minutes depending on your fitness. It's best to wear proper shoes for this hike. I wouldn't do this walk after it has rained as it would make it very difficult to not slip. You can't really go wrong on your way up as the path is narrow but easy to follow. You walk in shade 90% of the time but there may not be a single breeze until you reach the very top. It's worth the sweat once you stand on the top and look down.

Martin was a an absolute joy to work with. He is professional and knowledgeable while still making the experience fun and enjoyable. We completed both the parrot peak hike and also the sunset canoe trip. Martins tours are an amazing experience and I highly recommend him if you enjoy staying active while on the island. During our time we were able to experience a variety of unforgettable moments including watching one of the most spectacular sunrises I’ve ever seen and swimming with bioluminescence. Martin keeps the mood light and also provided us with amazing photos of the entire adventure for no additional cost. 10/10 recommend!

One of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to. You can get a taxi boat out from Abroaa to Pousa ( 25 real) and from there it’s a 15 minute walk through the jungle to get here. White sandy beaches and crystal blue water will greet you on arrival! Be prepared it gets quite busy but you can walk much further down the beach to get a quiet spot. They also have lifeguards working. They don’t have any facilities on the beach so make sure you pack a picnic and some beers.

It’s of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. Take goggles or rent with your tour company, it is totally worth it. You will see different types of sea life including turtles and starfish!

We loved hiking to Dois Rios. It's definitely an undertaking- so be prepared. As others have said, it's about 2.5 hours each way, plus you will likely want to spend a couple hours there exploring the beach and the jail museum (free). It's a pretty strenuous hike, and though others have been able to make the trip back by boat, but they are not always available so you should be prepared to walk both ways. We tried to arrange for a boat to pick us up but the seas were too rough on that side of the island that day. The small town of Vila de Dois Rios has a small restaurant/store where you can get water/snacks. The hike was very worth it. The beach where the river meets the ocean was incredibly beautiful, and we basically had the beach to ourselves.

We had excellent tour to Paraty from Rio. Our tour guide/driver was Newton from C2Rio. The scenery on the drive is beautiful and Newton’s descriptions of the places and history were excellent. This is a great way to see the historical city of Paraty and area around Rio. This is a full day trip. Allow 5 hours travel each way and 4-5 hours in Paraty or stay in one of many available hotels.

We went on the waterfall/jungle tour with Jango Tours and the Toboga was one of our stops on the day. The surfers at this spot are insane, blindfolding themselves with leaves while flipping and sliding down the rocks on their feet! It is an amazing natural formation that is loads of fun to slide down a few times into the natural, cool pool. Don't miss the chance to do this if you're in the area.

This amazing beach was all we wanted. We plonked ourselves at a cafe/restaurant half way down the beach - the first. They were really helpful- left us to chill and looked after our needs when we needed them- they helped with translation as our Portuguese was/is poor ???? We had the most wonderful lunch- a huge and whole fish, salad, rice washed down with some great cocktails. I also spent a lot of the time in the sea enjoying the force of nature. We caught a bus with the locals from Paraty and had a great day overall. Recommend this to get away from it all ????

Beyond the fishes, we saw even turtles and ray in snorkelling. It was very peaceful, as we were there during the week, we avoided the crowd that probably is bigger during weekends
