We have been visiting Finley for over 20 years. We took our boys there when they were toddlers and delighted in the cottontail rabbits that congregated around the headquarters house lawn, then later as young boys when they most looked forward to the newt ponds and finding garter snakes, and now as young men they join us to watch kestrels and harriers hunt, listen to the warble of lazuli buntings in the spring, or enjoy a picnic dinner under our favorite oak. Highly recommend stretching your legs on a trail; We love Woodpecker Loop hike, McFadden Marsh, along with other secret little corners. But even if you just slowly drive the refuge roads, stopping to look and listen for wildlife, it's still a very worthwhile visit. Something different to see every season of the year. Dawn and dusk are our favorite times to visit. Going in the winter provides needed relief by providing expanses of sky and green hills - even when its cloudy and rainy, and hundreds of waterfowl will lift anyone's mood. Dawn in the spring and early summer comes early, but you'll be rewarded with a chorus of birdsong! Summer evenings on the marsh may allow a peek at an otter family. Also a delightful time to soak up the view from the wooden deck around an ancient oak (Woodpecker Loop). Bring binoculars if you have them!

On Saturdays and Wednesdays from mid-April to late November, the Corvallis Farmers' Market fills the downtown Riverfront with the sights, scents and tastes of our agricultural bounty. Fruit, vegetables, herbs, eggs, honey, grains, nuts, meat, cut flowers and nursery plants all come farm direct to you from the producers in our Local Six counties. Enjoy baked goods and restaurant foods made with local ingredients while listening to live music and observing the locals in their native environment.
We go most Saturdays just for the community connection, lots of local providers with fresh yummy stuff, all kinds and levels of music and entertainment for all ages. If you're new to or visiting Corvallis, this and the co-op are an ideal introduction.

There are few places that allow horseback riding close to populated areas. OSU has made this beautiful area available for multiple use and we are incredibly grateful.

They have the best assortment of imported items, and a huge variety of item. I love buying unique greeting cards from them, then I browse the earring to see if they have something I can't live without.
