What an amazing day! From meeting the owner Carlos to being guided by the incredibly knowledgeable Josue and Don Arnurfo around the finca on horse (a real ride not just a trail ride). We saw amazing vistas, unique plants and interesting sustainable agriculture. To top it off back at the house we had a home made lunch (a feast is a better description) of almost completely ingredients from their finca. I will be back and hope others get to go too.

The Tea & Chocolate Place IS NOT a restaurant nor a coffee shop. WE DO NOT SELL FOOD OR COFFEE. We are a Visitors Center open to the public only from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm from Monday to Saturday. Since 2003, we have been working as a family to reforest steep and eroded areas around Copan Ruinas. Our objective is to serve as an educational space where you can learn about environmental issues affecting the area of Copan, at the same time learn about a variety of teas and other natural products that we make from native and foreign medicinal plants organically grown in our Copan 2012 Botanical Research Station. Our center is located in a peaceful, garden-like setting with amazing views of the mountains. We only offer a Tea Menu where you can choose from 20 different medicinal teas, or enjoy our hot chocolate beverage made from ground cacao beans (along with a small traditional local snack) while watching the sun go down. If you are hungry we recommend that you eat before, or plan for dinner
Perfect place for a hot chocolate and a variety of natural products straight from the Honduran ground

Copan Ruinas are a must if in Honduras or even if you're in a neighboring country. The quality of the ruins, in terms of preservations, is outstanding. I highly recommend walking about and getting close and personal with these Mayan ruins.

Copan Ruinas valley of Kings, Sacred Valley of the Red Scarlet Macaw. Copan Ruinas is an ancient city in the Mayan Empire. Located in western Honduras at just under 10 minutes from the border with Guatemala el Florido. More than 138,000 visitors came here in 2017, the lowest in years but with a slight increase in traffic in comparison to 2015. Many agree the bad condition of the road plays an important role to this lack of traffic. Hopefully in 2018 will be better.
Just went to Honduras for the first time and got to go to the Ruins with my girlfriend and her family it was amazing the tour guide we had shared lots of history with us and we absolutely enjoyed the whole time there I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Winners can really have their heart taken. Story by guide was very interesting and well done. Cesar was on top of the tour and was excellent. Looong walk, plan well, take water and remember no facility inside park. Plan to walk a great deal and wear solid shoes. Sun protection is needed

A multi - faceted eco-tourism project on ten heavily forested acres in a stream fed valley, only six minutes by vehicle from Copan Ruinas Central Park. Macaw Mountain Bird Park and Nature Reserve provides our visitors a very personal encounter with the fascinating birds of Honduras in a stunning natural setting. It is a relaxing, educational and quite memorable experience and your visit will help support our goals of aviary conservation and free macaw reproduction.
We had a quick afternoon visit here with our 4 year-old son. Admirable enterprise and allowed us all to see several species of birdlife, while appreciating that they had been rescued from dire circumstances. The park is easy to reach from Copan Ruinas town centre (via tuk-tuk) and the paths are well laid out throughout the property.

I visited as part of a package tour from Finca El Cisne. I wore flip flops, but water sandals might work even better. There were enough pools, points of interest, activities and food choices to keep things interesting for 2 separate visits. The staff was very friendly, the facilities were very clean, and the entire experience relaxing, reinvigorating, and satisfying. I also brought along swimwear, a towel, and cellphone camera. Early December was not a buggy time of the year. This is the reason why the place is called Agua Caliente...????

This is a great collection to see before or after the main ruins. It may be more meaningful to see the ruins first. Nice collection. Good English signage. You need 1-1.5 hours to see it all. Highly recommend. If this review is helpful then please indicate so below.
