Highfield Tea Factory

Our excellent guide was very knowledgable about the whole process of preparing different types of tea & chai. All the processes were underway when we visited in January. At the end of the trip you can try each kind and take a look at essential oil and chocolate production. I came away with a deep appreciation of the work involved in our daily cuppa!

Dolphin's Nose

Reviewed By Aran2005 - Utrecht, The Netherlands

It is a tourist spot, but not crowded at all (maybe only in the weekend). There is a viewpoint with great views of the surrounding mountains and tea plantations. Also monkeys stay at this place. Food stalls and a lot of photographers who can make your photos in traditional clothes and with a basket when you are working in the tea plantations. 5 to 10 minutes and your photo is printed. No problem if you ask them to take some photos with your own camera or mobile. It's definitely worth to visit this place.

Comes on the way to the dolphin nose so its a good idea to visit this place. The views are good and the hike to the top is very nice as it gives you a chance to walk in the forest with really tall trees. It's definitely better than the dolphin nose so avoid the later if you are in hurry.

Wellington Lake

Reviewed By webtriptourist - New Delhi, India

it is a small lake in Wellington and hence falls in military area. It is very peaceful, beautifully built and has boating facilities also. It is a pleasure just to watch the water and see the views around while sitting by the lake side. There are swings for kids, some benches for visitors, a Gandhi statue and eco-toilets (that operate using coin) at the spot. The lake has a few ducks that are a delight to watch and interact. They will come out of water for food and to enjoy the sun. They tend to stay together in a group and will let you stand near them while they are basking in the glory of the sun. The kids were mesmerized by them and wanted to feed them touch them and play with them. When we wanted to depart from the lake, all the kids would not even budge and wanted to spend more and more time with the cute ducks !! If you are visiting Conoor or Wellington, make sure to drop in once and enjoy the tranquility of the lake - you will carry back memories of the serene place, the breeze and the ducks.
