We went with Aventuras Forte-s to the Serra de Brasfemes with the goal to find fossils. Not only we found them, but Sergio, who is so passionate about it, came with some rare samples to show us (and carried them just to educate us) ;-) But it is finally Fatima, our second tour guide, who found most of the fossils (and offered them to us). We could not hope for more, one guide with historical details and the other guide with sharp eyes to find plenty of them. This was a wonderful experience, that we can only recommend if you are in the Coimbra area. We cannot wait to do a new adventure with them in the near future. Thanks again.

8. Bôa Vista | Secret Palace - Fado & Drinks Experience

Travessa da Trindade, Tv. da Trindade, 3000-233 Coimbra, Portugal Coimbra' Singular

This Palace was where a former rector of the University of Coimbra studied medicine in 1907. After holding prominent public positions, Fernando de Almeida Ribeiro was Rector of the University of Coimbra in 1926. In this Palace whose history we have known since 1884, we can find immense traces of unique architecture, luxurious materials and construction techniques almost nonexistent today. Some geniuses more than 100 years ago, made art on the walls of the rooms with tiles of a unique beauty. The fireplace gives a special magic to all spaces. The same geniuses of the tiles, did the same with the velvet wallpaper and wooden ceilings that decorate the main hall of the Palace. In this hall, it's possible to listen to Fado Coimbra on a turntable that will soon be 100 years old. In the kitchen, there is a native marble table that weighs half a ton. In the Bôa Vista balcony, there's a unique landscape with the Mondego River, the Santa Clara Monastery, the São Francisco Convent.
