The Dhyanalinga is set amidst the foothills of the Velliangiri Mountains, the first of its kind to be completed in over 2000 years. This powerful meditative space does not ascribe to any particular faith or belief system nor does it require any ritual, prayer, or worship. In June 1999, Dhyanalinga was consecrated by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, a realized master, mystic and yogi, after three years of intense process of prana prathista (process of energizing an object using one's own life energies). Measuring 13' 9", Dhyanalinga is the largest mercury-based live linga in the world. All the aspects of life are enshrined in the form of seven chakras, energized to the very peak and locked to prevent dissipation over time. It is expected that the energies of the Dhyanalinga will not suffer dissipation for at least 5000 years. THEERTAKUNDS The Dhyanalinga features two Theerthakunds, which are subterranean tanks with solidified mercury lingas immersed in water, built as preparatory tools to enhance one's spiritual receptivity before entering the Dhyanalinga. The Theerthakunds, are very powerful by themselves. It straightens out the energy or the pranic imbalances in a person, which leads to physical and mental well-being. Above all, it creates a tremendous receptivity to imbibe the energies of Dhyanalinga. They are open for Gents and Ladies from 7:30AM to 8:00PM NADHA ARADHANA An offering of sound to the Dhyanalinga, Nadha Aradhana is an etheric blend of vocals, singing bowls, drums and various other instruments amplified within the reverberating Dome, transporting one into the timeless space of the Dhyanalinga. The offering takes place twice a day, from 11:50 am to 12:10 pm and from 5:50 pm to 6:10 pm. These times are recognized as special sandhya kalas for meditators. A sandhya kala is a phase when nature undergoes certain transitions and makes a person more receptive to inner possibilities. AUMKAR MEDITATION Visitors to the Dhyanalinga can further deepen their experience by attending this daily introduction to the timeless and powerful mantra "Aum." This meditation is known to have transcendental qualities. It can bring peace and balance to one's system, and is known to relieve people from numerous physical and mental ailments when practiced regularly. Aumkar meditation is offered daily from 12:30 pm to 1:00 pm.
It is a huge meditation hall constructed uniquely without pillars, round shape with a beautiful lingam at centre place. Silence can be enjoyable, good place for peaceful meditation. Staff guides the visitors

Me and a group of friends visited this awesome place on March 27. We all started from Chennai on March 26 and reached Coimbatore at 8:30 am on march 27. Had breakfast at aaryas opposite to railway station and got a bus to isha yoga. It took 1 hour to reach isha yoga. We spent 2 hours there visiting dhyana linga and adhiyogi. The place is stunning and facilities were amazing. We had out lunch there and left to poondi in the afternoon. It was a short trip by share auto. Poondi is the location of velliangiri temple and starting place for the trek. Since we were planning for a night trek, we rested there in the afternoon, took bath in the public bathroom there and had anna dhanam food from the temple in the evening. Since March 27 was an auspicious day due to full moon and "panguni uthiram", there were huge crowds in the temple and for the trek as well. We started the trek at 7 pm. The forest department does extensive search of bags to throw out any plastic stuff. They even threw out my friends toothbrush. Make sure all is put in paper bags or food items rolled in newspapers. There are totally 7 hills about 1km each. Hills 1,2,3 have a lot of steps and are difficult. You can actually wear shoes here to make the climb easier. Hills 4, 5 and 6 are marginally easier as there are some flat lands through which you travel. Hill 6 has a pond where a lot of people take bath. Hill 7 is the most difficult of them all where the mountain is very steep. One needs good company and will power to climb it. But once you are done, you will feel good about yourself. So, please don't lose motivation and climb down. Ensure that you finish all 7 mountains. Some tips: Me and my friend had done a lot of YouTube research on the mountain and practiced 7-8 km walks daily near our home. it is recommended that one does these things to keep the climb easier. It is also advised to travel light.carry one bedsheet, one light jacket and 2 litres of water along with some fruits like apple and orange. Since this was during season, there were a lot of shops in the mountain where you could get biscuits, lime soda, butter milk, water melon and other stuff. If you run out of water, there are places near 2nd and 6th hill where you can fill them. Most of the shops will fill your water bottles for 30 rs per bottle as well. If you plan to trek at night, carry a torch as well. You should also get a stick for climbing when you are at the mountain base.

From Coimbatore city to Thadagam Road leads to a small hillock (20-30 min soft climb) on which, Lord Subramaniar temple is situated. With thick forest sorrounding it along with a small stream nearby, it is a peaceful place for a short trek and divine experience. Go with the advise of forest check post as after light hours for onward or return may lead to encounter with wild animals.
