This was a bucket list item for sure. We took an hour ride with Chrissie and loved every minute of it. We’re both total beginners but Chrissie (and our horses!) were great - very calm, very clear in the instructions and very patient. I was so sad when our hour was up - could’ve trekked through the beautiful countryside on those well-behaved horses forever. Big thanks to Chrissie, Copper, and Applejack!

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park

Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park protects spectacular natural landscapes and historical resources along the Bow River, between Calgary and Cochrane. To ensure Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park's sensitive and significant natural and historical features are protected, a detailed biophysical inventory and an archaeological assessment were conducted. An interim park management plan was developed to provide a framework for initial development of facilities and services in the park. Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park is a day-use only park. Camping is NOT allowed.

We had a wonderful, warm and windy walk on a busy Friday afternoon using both the paved and unpaved trails, around 11km in all. Our favourite part was across the railway down by the river. Here it was quite boggy in places with the fast-melting snow, and we had this part almost to ourselves. We had not known anything about the history, and were well informed by the panels throughout.

Big Hill Springs Provincial Park

Big Hill Springs is located between Parkland and Foothills natural regions, just north of Cochrane, Alberta; it preserves a large spring and series of small waterfalls that flow year-round over rocky terraces covered with a lush growth of shrubs and grasses. The park is also the site of an historic fish hatchery and Alberta's first commercial creamery.

Lovely scenic spot for some easy hiking. Trails go into the forest, up a hill and wind through a valley. But get there early - parking fills up quickly in the summer months

We have interacted with very friendly staff absolutely EVERY time we have gone there. Perfection in the popcorn department that compliments a tidy food services area. The seats in theatre #1 are AMAZINGLY comfortable, especially for those longer movies. This business makes available a discount card each year that we do take advantage of. This makes a good deal even better! We feel that Cochrane is VERY fortunate to have this business in our town. Congratulations on an a well run establishment.

The walking trails that are found by the Bow River in Cochrane are very pretty and we really enjoyed our leisurely walk. The scenery is lovely and changes depending which direction you choose to go.
