Families gravitate to Myrtle Beach and the 60-mile span of Grand Strand, where over 100 championship golf courses, tennis courts and nightclubs await. Charleston’s hundreds of heritage buildings, and irresistible charm, are part of its allure. Beach resorts at Kiawah Island, Seabrook and Edisto Island make for romantic getaways. Marshes, moss-bearded palms and oak groves create ambiance in the haunting Lowcountry.

Inlet Point Plantation Stables

This was the highlight of my trip to Myrtle Beach area. All of the employees are welcoming and took time to make everyone was paired up with the right horse due to riding experience. We were a group of three who had almost no experience at all, and our horses were wonderful. We did the 2 hour combo beach and plantation ride. We loved both! The beach was ours alone during our hour and the weather was perfect. Stephanie was our guide and did a great job education us on Waties Island. The plantation ride had its own unique experience when we had to slow down and let the alligators get off the trial so we could pass by. I loved learning about the area and the wildlife that is lack to call it home. A must do if you are in the area!

My daughter and I had a most enjoyable trail ride led by Rebecca. She had two other novices on the ride. She was so good with us and the horses that everyone's jitters were calmed. She explained each of the horses' personality and what to expect and how to handle each of them. There was just one horse that liked to be a little uncooperative and my daughter rode him. It went fine and added a little more excitement to the ride. We saw quite a few alligators sunning themselves at the edge of the pond. Rebecca shared a lot of history of the plantation, information on the current use of the equestrian center, and about the wildlife seen. Everything is well taken care of for novice riders.

My family and I went to Lawton Stables for the small animal farm/petting zoo. It is free and super fun! They have all different kinds of animals, including alpacas, goats, and even a potbelly pig! It’s great for all ages (I am 20 and my sister is 17 and we loved it). The animals are well taken care of and the grounds are beautiful. While it is a small farm, it was worth the trip as my whole family enjoyed it!

Grandpa and Grandma gave our teens a horseback riding trip for Xmas and they loved it! They rode along the beach and back to the state park for about 1.5 hours and the two women leading it were very helpful and friendly. The kids loved the experience and would definitely recommend it!

Seabrook Island Equestrian Center

Reviewed By fossil5000

An excellent two days on Leo during the week of July 13, 2020. We had two great rides with Cecile who really went out of her way to share information about Seabrook with first-time riders and at the same time provide everyone with opportunities to experience a first-class beach riding experience. The rides were not rushed, and everyone riding expressed pleasure with both the ride, their horses, and the staff. I really appreciated the special time I had with Leo this year especially after the loss of Lacy last year. Seabrook Island should be very proud of the efforts put forth by everyone at the Equestrian Center, and it is the real highlight of each visit and reason for our continued trips to Seabrook since 1987. Again, great job Cecile, the entire staff, and, of course, Leo! Steve Agee
