Since 2003, the ensemble actors of Charleston’s acclaimed PURE Theatre have built a solid reputation for artistic excellence in provocative contemporary theatre. The 20 professional actors comprising the Core Ensemble are the soul of PURE’s work. Serving a sophisticated and diverse audience with a taste for new work, PURE presents a compelling five-play season between September and June. Endeavoring annually to outdo what was accomplished in years past, PURE continually makes three promises to its audience: to always tell a story worth listening to, to only pursue excellence, and to always gift the audience something to talk about. The company has been lauded for coupling artistic risk-taking with a passionate commitment to addressing the important and often hilarious challenges of being human in the world today, yesterday, and tomorrow. PURE has been praised for its exceptional programming and diversity in casting.

The Awendaw Green Barn Jams are an outdoor, year-round Wednesday night original music showcase that get folks off their couch to enjoy and connect with others and support original music and the artist that make it. It is held in Awendaw, SC, 15 miles North of Charleston under grand oaks by an old barn that evokes the Lowcountry in a uniquely hyper-local bohemian atmosphere on the grounds of the Sewee Outpost. It runs from 6-10pm every Wed night of the year and features a diverse assembly of music from around the globe. Try a wood fired pizza, the grill, or fresh local oysters in season and drink your own libations responsibly. $5 donation at door, all ages are welcome, BYOB, pets on a leash, and it is always a family friendly occasion.

Midtown Theatre has been a mainstay on the Charleston theatre scene since 1989, making a name for itself with cabaret & dinner theatre at The Colony House & Cavallaro restaurants. Founded in 1989 by Sheri Grace Wenger, Midtown has grown to become a multi-award winning, 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization known for its high-caliber works & knack for nurturing new local talent.
