The Arderne Gardens in Claremont, Cape Town, have a collection of several hundred species of trees and shrubs, representing the finest collection of exotic species in a public garden in South Africa.
I have stayed in Claremont/Newlands many times and am ashamed to say that I have never been to these gardens before and they are probably not on most tourists radar. You can park on the road outside and there is no admission charge. I think it is true that whilst the gardens are reasonably well maintained they have, probably due to financial constraints, seen better days. However some of the huge trees are absolutely fantastic , the like of which I have never seen before. One can only imagine what these gardens were like at their pristine best in years gone by but make no mistake they are still very much worth a visit - an hour will suffice. I shall make sure I visit again next time I am in Cape Town. Some of those massive tall trees will linger long in the memory.

Ginkgo Petite Spa at The Andros is situated in the beautiful gardens of the 5-star Deluxe Boutique Hotel in Upper-Claremont. This little jewel is a well-appointed 3-roomed sanctuary that specialises in anti-stress massage treatments like the Ginkgo “Elixir”© Signature Massage and Ginkgo “Ataraxia”© Massage.
Just being in this clean, stress-free and relaxing space makes one feel better already. The day started with a stunning lunch in the champagne bar at the Andros, and then off to the spa. We were greeted by friendly staff. I was booked for a massage and pedicure. The Massage bed was exceptionally comfortable, heat setting was spot on and the massage was outstanding with the perfect pressure. The pedicure was also excellent with a stunning foot massage. The therapists were attentive and professional and the whole experience revitalising.

Welcome to Happy feet a home of the first traditional and authentic Chinese foot massage shop in SA. In our store we offer only the best therapy done by our Chinese masseuse's/masseur's, trained in China. We specialize in reflexology foot massage and also offer a wide range of deep tissue treatments and cupping. So pop in and sit back with cup of Chinese green tea and relax.
The best pedicures and reflexology treatments I’ve ever had. No spa competes with them.. (I like to have a pedi with 45mins of reflexology.) They offer many types of massage, but I highly recommend having the face, head & body massage. The men do the pedicures, they are well trained and very professional. The decor isn’t the best, but the treatments are superb.
