Largest In The World
We did the technical tour of Itaipu which takes you down to the foundation of the dam and into the main powerhouse. The size of the place is mind-boggling with the powerhouse over a kilometre long and twenty enormouse turbo-generators. The form of construction of the dam leaves Cathedral like spaces bewteen the buttresses that are over 100m high.
A very impressive piece of engineering and though Three Gorges in China is larger, Itapu holds the record for the amount if energy generated in one year.
We did not see the spillway in operation which must be incredible to see.

This four-floor mall is a new sensation in Ciudad del Este. Located only 300 m from the customhouse, you can easily park your car for free in this all glazed beautiful building. There are many shops to be settled in the mall, but some must-to-go attractions are: shopping China (3rd. floor), 3D museum (2nd. floor) and Snow Park (4th. floor). Almost everything can be found in one place: the shopping China, but the price is similar to most malls like Sax or Monalisa. Top brands are not available, so don't expect luxury, only the usual: beverages, perfumes, clothes, electronics and foods. The staff still needs more training, otherwise be prepared for long queues for leaving the shop. A disadvantage is lack of good place to have your meal. The 3D museum is the must-to-visit attraction: very inovative and well designed. I could not visit the snow park, but you can easily find other entertainment for children there. Even not fully finisihed, all this structure, worth visiting the Shopping Paris.

Now you have to pay G5,000 (£0.80) entrance fee. But no ticket, no map or information. Was told it is for maintenance etc.
Since this place had the new toilet block built it has started charging. And since the finish of the block it has been poorly maintained.
The main circuit board for the toilets was hanging off with all the breakers loose and a stray wire hanging. The toilets were dirty and no toilet paper.
The view is good.
Once you go to the Hito in Brazil and Argentina you can see how the Paraguayans have missed a trick. No gift shop, no cafe, no information boards etc. Just seems like a new toilet block was built and that they gave up.
Come on guys.

Great shop for sharp-priced brands in clothes, cosmetics, food, drinks, electronics and computer. No cheap stuff, but the real deal of otherwise much more expensive brands. Probably the best place to go for middle class shopping with comfort and choice. Fourth floor big food court.

The Sax store has a terrific restaurant on the highest floor... The ambience is wonderful. The staff is extremely well trained and polite. The food is very very good. Besides very well elaborated food, they serve the best kebab in the world!!!

This is a good place to walk around but you will be around it in half an hour. The shops are ok and so to are the places to eat.
It is clean and well kept, but is falling apart. Its been open less than a year and there is scaffolding all over the outside and some part on the inside of shops.
Its just ok, nothing spectacular.

This was a lovely church to look around. We spent only a few minutes here but it was a haven of tranquility in the crazyness of the city.
