Finlake Riding Centre is situated in the beautiful Teign valley on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.Adjacent to Finlake Holiday Park it benefits from scenic off road hacking in private parkland and woodland trails. All the bridle tracks have been 'all weather' surfaced so that even in inclement weather under foot remains good.Hacking: All ages and standards of rider are catered for from absolute beginners to the more experienced riders on our "walk, trot, canter, gallop" rides! Young children and nervous adults may prefer our half hour stroll where our experienced staff will be able to lead rein anyone requiring assistance.Very small children can ride our tiny miniature shetland pony Wilfred or the slightly bigger Wallie. All our horses & ponies are extremely well cared for by our dedicated staff members, the horses welfare and customer safety is paramount. Finlake Riding Stables has something to offer everyone, we welcome any inspection prior to riding.
Had an hours session with 3 friends as part of a trip away for my 40th, the staff were amazing they were really friendly and bubbly and upbeat, made us at ease especially with my friend who hadn’t rode before, they had boots and hats to borrow and gave us a hair covering and disposable gloves (for COVID purposes) (gloves were a small fee or you could bring your own!) There was a full briefing on what to do and your horses behaviours (mine was known to be a fidget - wanting to keep moving, whilst my friends was a bit lazy - needing encouragement to get moving) it was nice because you kind of got to know the horse too before the trip. They wouldn’t put a horse with someone who couldn’t handle it as they asked you questions about your ability in the form before the ride and asked questions from reading the form, they were very thorough, checking your weight and height to give you the right horse! The ride was 8 of us with 3 staff one at the front one at the back and one in the middle! They called instructions to you or came over if they thought you were struggling. They supported my friend really well as she was new to riding! They took us around the Holiday Park and onto a bridle path into a wooded area and back to the stables, we got a full hour and they were fantastic would recommend to Adults and Families as the others in our group had children with them and the kids really enjoyed it too! Thank you so much to all the ladies for making our experience so fun and enjoyable!!

Booked my two teens and husband onto an hour session in the trees on Tuesday but it had to be rearranged. Unfortunately when we turned up, we had not been booked in but the guys there were incredibly professional and most helpful with Mike saying it was fine, he was there and available so not an issue at all. They gave a sense of immense confidence along with a chilled atmosphere which made my youngest feel safe as she slowly gained confidence going round the course. The course itself was challenging without being impossible and both of the guys up there (sorry for not catching the other chap’s name) helping my kids every step of the way. Can’t praise them highly enough and all for a really reasonable cost. Thanks so much for a really fun outing.

We have a superb 20 metre heated indoor pool, and the beached entrance makes it accessible for all the family. As well as doing a few lengths, you can take a dip in the pool and make a splash in the children’s water playground complete with mini slides, play equipment and water fountains. We also have rides & flumes suitable for all ages, and Keep refuelled by our poolside Splash Cafe!

Just had a fabulous couple of curries from The Bishop Lacey here in Chudleigh along with a cracking cheeseburger and chips for our teenage son. My fiancée is a coeliac so eating out in restaurants and takeaways can be challenging. It was no problem for Robin and Wendy at the Bishop, they are really friendly and happy to help and reassure. Tonight was a takeaway night from the Bishop for us, but eating in is well worth considering if you are visiting. As from past experiences Robin does a cracking steak, and all his food is superb. Good size portions and good honest pub grub!!
