Famed for its soccer team and music scene, which has produced the likes of the Smiths and Oasis, this center for sports and the arts is a down-to-earth and friendly city. The so-called Capital of the North has overcome industrial decline, bombing (in WWII and by the IRA) to become a confident and cosmopolitan city of well over two million. It is well served by a bus and light rail network. Top attractions include the Lowry art complex, arcade Affleck's Palace and Canal Street gay village.

My partner and I came to Bring & Mix for our anniversary and had such a wonderful evening. We had 7 amazing cocktails, and the lovely staff were so nice to chat to (and super knowledgeable about the alcohols we had brought). The atmosphere was lovely, and everything down to the beautiful glasses was a treat. Ask for the chocolate orange cocktail- it's delicious.

ThIs is the largest church in Manchester, and is a truly magnificent building. Despite the busy main road outside, the serene atmosphere inside lends itself to contemplation, prayer or just quiet time whilst admiring the architecture and decoration of the building.

The Manchester Museum is home to an array of treasures from the natural world and the many cultures it is home to. Highlights include a T.rex, fossils, live amphibians and reptiles. You can handle objects from the collection, take part in hands-on activities or enjoy a cup of coffee in our 3rd floor café.
Fascinating Egyptology Department where some statues are reputed to turn on their own at night :) The whole Museum is well organised..... easy to get to with an excellent Bus service down Oxford Road. Highly Recommended.

The Whitworth is part of the University of Manchester. It is home to some of the UK's finest collections of art and design including modern and historic fine art, prints, textiles and a rare collection of wallpapers.
A visit to the Whitworth art gallery was a great surprise it’s a wonderful laid out art gallery with lots of historic art pieces and a contemporary arts gallery shop with lots of modern space at the rear to hold the new and moving collection of art .it also had a great e xhibition of Cezanne paintings and sketches and a wonderful collection of wallpapers and textiles .included were paintings and tapestry’s by Grayson Perry And Tracey Emin amongst many. I found one of Picasso’s prints The frugal meal an etching I have always been inspired by and inspired my first drypoint etching when I was at Middlesex University. Wonderful open plan exhibition space and a great community exhibition of a nightclub that was knocked down and the relationships once formed in Moss side etc. Fantastic art gallery and well worth the bus trip or walk down past the Manchester University to see a great collection of art work. 256 Wilmslow Road is a stylish bar and Nightclub in Fallowfield. Bright and spacious, it keeps most of its original charm but with clean lines and bare wood for extra style. There's a strong pub food menu consisting of classic favourites such as burgers, sharers and an all-day breakfast menu served until 9pm and we also served Sunday roasts from 12-9pm every Sunday. 256 Wilmslow Road stocks a great selection of drinks from cocktails to real ales. We also host some of the Biggest club nights every week from 10pm
