What to do and see in Chonburi Province, Thailand: The Best Private Tours

November 1, 2021 Natalie Tallman

Chonburi (Thai: ชลบุรี, RTGS: Chon Buri,  [tɕ͡ʰōn bū.rīː] ( listen)) is an eastern province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Rayong. To the west is the Gulf of Thailand. Chonburi is home to Thailand's largest tourist oriented city, Pattaya (also spelled Phatthaya), it is the only province outside the Bangkok Metropolitan Area to connect by an eight-lane motorway to Bangkok, 80 km distant. It is home to Thailand's largest and primary seaport, it has a thriving migrant and expatriate population. Due to these factors, the province's population is growing rapidly, with currently some 1.7 million residents (albeit with a large floating or unregistered population). The registered population as of 31 December 2012 was 1.36 million.

Silverlake is a large vineyard located in the countryside South East of Pattaya. Several grape varieties are grown from which white, red and rosé wines are produced. A romantic place with a serene atmosphere, the winery is a nice place to spend a few relaxing hours and have lunch while enjoying the views of the rural, hilly area South East of Pattaya. As the farm is quite large and it can get hot, visitors can choose to tour the vineyard in an electric tram. Stops are made at the windmill and flower gardens, some of the greenhouses, The Movie House, the grape juice plant and the winery. At each stop there is time to make photos and have a look around the natural beauty of Silverlake.

10. A Refreshing Discovery of Pattaya

Asian Trails Thailand

What has put Pattaya on the tourism map is that this sunny, fun-filled destination along the Eastern side (or the sunset side) of the upper Gulf of Thailand is so diverse. Long-stretched beaches lined by a road and hotels, restaurants, cafes, shops, massage shops and other businesses are merely a stone’s throw away from more quiet beach regions such as Jomtien, Sattahip and Naklua. These regions provide an escape when not wanting to be in the middle of it all but within a short distance of happening Pattaya is on one's wish list. If you are eager to see what you can see beyond your beach chair or swimming pool lounger, discover the other side of this bustling tourism spot; even it is only for half a day!

Inclusions: A half-day tour with a professional English-speaking assistance. , Transportation by air-conditioned vehicle with professional driver. , All entrance and donation fees for visits as mentioned in the description. , All applicable taxes and service charges

We did our own tour, reading ahead of time and as we walked across the bridge. The area is beautiful and has a dark history that is definitely worth researching about ahead of time.
