I visited the Tabard Theatre yesterday afternoon for the production of "Sexy Laundry" which was hilarious and very deserving of the hype since it's 2002 launch in Canada. The theater is situated above the pub but has it's own entrance via the beer garden which I really liked (I never like traipsing through pubs to get to their theatre) and it seats only 96 so very intimate. Good sound, lighting and stage directing even for a small venue, quality was not compromised. They even have lingerie decorating the stairs and communal areas to get patrons in the mood for what is to come. I was row F4 but as the rows behind were empty I moved to row G where I could spread out and enjoy the show even more, giving those in row F a little more space to breath (some patrons seemed very large for the seats so I'm sure appreciated me making more room for them). The stairs are quite rickety so take care when descending. I would recommend calling in advance if you have accessibility issues just to be sure you can get up all the stairs. Turnham Green (Piccadilly & District Lines) is the closest tube. As you exit the station, stay on the pavement turning right which curves around leading you to the Tabard in less than 60 seconds. It's really easy. I traveled from Highams Park which was one Overground train and two tube lines which only took less than an hour on a Sunday, I even had time for tea before hand. I'd recommend the Tabard Theatre and imagine I'll be back for more productions soon.
