This new Parkland incorporates the native prehistoric flora and fauna and the brand-new water play area. This parkland is a reflection of the Aboriginal cultural history and the town's railway heritage connection with the early Western line.
These parklands showcase local flora, local art and provide a place for a pleasant stroll or a family picnic. There is a lovely waterpark and climbing frames for kids to play. It is really well maintained and on our morning walk we saw everything being well cleaned. A great use of the land which we heard had been a disused rail yard .

Situated right beside Chinchilla’s beautiful newly built Botanic Gardens & water park???????????????? We stopped by the information center first before taking a selfie with the iconic big watermelon ???? & so our boys could have a play in the water park next door. Very helpful guy that served us, we bought a sticker for the back of the caravan, had a look around & went on our way.

Stop and take a photo of this giant four ton, three metre high, nine metre wide bright pink watermelon slice which stands proudly on the Warrego Highway between the Chinchilla Visitor Information Centre and the railway crossing.
We found it by accident while passing through. Good photo opportunity. It looks almost real. Parking available.
