Everything was grate. We was looking for place to spend the weekend and we got a beautiful cabin next to the river. We arrived and what a surprise when we find out about the park, with ample opportunities to learn and explore, along with hiking trails, climbing ... The Lake Lure Is amazing. Nice people and nice place! Very good restaurants and pet friendly. I just love it.

Come experience the excitement of prospecting for gemstones! We are located on the banks of the Rocky Broad River in historic Chimney Rock Village (just 20 minutes from Asheville). Rock & minerals of all kinds have been found like:Emerald, Ruby, Garnet, Peridot, Amethyst, and many more! We provide the equipment & we guarantee a find every time.
It was late Saturday afternoon and we were walking through Chimney Rock, when our kids spied the Gem Mine... Now, we are traveling with 5 kids... Who can afford Gems? But, we stopped, strolled around and got pulled down to just look. (Yeah, right.) Anyhow, we asked questions and found that we could split the Family bucket amongst, well, you guessed it, the Family. For the next 25+ minutes, they sifted, found gems, ooh-ed and ahh-ed, and were happy, happy, happy. My goodness, you'd've thunk they just won the jackpot...! I have got to say, we were thoroughly pleased with our purchase, our experience and the help from the young gentleman, Jordan, who kept 5 kids entertained, and informed, about their new treasures.

This was one of our favorite places! The kids loved getting out on the rocks to take photos and put their toes in the freezing cold water.

Moderate hike to this waterfall with uphill areas on the trail. Up close access to the falls with different viewing areas. Park ranger at base of falls was friendly and informative. It is worth taking the hike to see when you're in Chimney Rock.
