You could spend your whole Chiang Mai vacation exploring the famous Night Bazaar. Once you’ve exhausted the art of the cheerful haggle, however, there’s plenty more to explore. The National Museum and Botanic Garden are great places to soak up some local culture and to breathe in the delicate fragrance of Thai orchids. In the city’s center, the remains of ancient walls embrace over 30 temples. Limber travelers can climb 300 stairs to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, an ornate Buddhist temple in the hills.

Covered ตลาด positioned around cinco minutes norte de Chiang Mai, where el suelo and las encimeras are unbroken tile making them very straightforward to clean and maintain. So great hygiene in a ตลาด which specialises in foodstuffs - mainly prepared items including แกง, stir fries and grilled dead တိရိစ္ဆာန်။ Very little ภาษาอังกฤษ labelling so you’ll need to be careful if you’re เจ/သက်သတ်လွတ်/vegano, since even a lot of the stir fries for instance have bits of dismembered animals ဟင်းသီဟင်းရွက်များအောက်မှာရှိတယ်။ One end of the covered mercado is devoted to fresh produce - ผัก y သစ်သီး - but in my experience their presence isn’t always as regular as the prepared foods vendedores. No hay asientos.

Khamthiang Market is a gem in Chiang Mai. The hidden-away flower market offers a wide variety of flora and fauna and is right next to the Lotus Supermarket. It is a great place to see where locals shop for flowers.

Wattana Art Gallery, Chiang Mai, Thailand Where can I see contemporary art in Chiang Mai? Tourists and art lovers are left asking this question after they have seen all the Wats and visited the craft villages. Tucked away on Soi Wat Umong in the hills behind Chiang Mai University, Wattana Art Gallery is a stunning building that houses perhaps the finest art gallery in Chiang Mai. It has three floors full of original paintings in oil, acrylic and mixed media, ranging from smaller works to larger size murals. Wattana Wattanapun has lived and worked in the United States and Canada. He has held visiting professorship positions in numerous prestigious institutions, including Haverford College, Oberlin College, Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and Simon Fraser University. Presently, he is an academic consultant to the Fine Arts Faculty, Chiang Mai University.Wattana’s art work incorporates traditional Thai motifs in a contemporary perspective. The work expresses social commentary on the changing and corrupted cultural environment and makes us question the nature of beauty.Come visit Wattana Art Gallery and enjoy organic coffee, exotic snacks and available WiFi in the Coffee Corner while you experience this unique gallery designed as an art sanctuary -- a quiet place for contemplation about beauty and aesthetics, where art is inseparable from life.
This private gallery is stunning. The building is beautiful and the art diverse and exquisite. The artist lives next door and was in the gallery when I visited. He is friendly and well-travelled. I ended up being invited to an opening. A visit here would be easy to combine with a visit to Wat Umong which is quite unique as well.

Chill out food park in an open space environment right in the heart of Chiang Mai town. We serve different varieties of delicious food from selected vendors.
One of my favourites night markets, a lot of fun, culture, and food. You can get the best traditional thai food in here.
