Pioneer Village;Nestled among a 35 acre pine grove with 37 buildings and several original log cabins built and furnished in the 1800's. The buildings are filled with thousands of artifacts of that period. A climate controlled building contains 36 cubicles filled with antique guns, clothing, WWI,II, and Civil War articles. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day with special events on week ends. See our Web Page.
I have been wanting to stop here for years and we finally did on our last trip to Eau Claire. It was well worth the $10 each to get in, there are so many buildings and so much history on the site!! My husband isn't as big a history buff as I am, but he had a lot of fun seeing the old boats and fishing items. They have everything you can imagine, an old country store, printing shop, blacksmith, church, school, gas station, dentist and doctors offices and of course farming and everyday life items. We spent a good 2 hours wandering around and still didn't see everything. If you have time this is certainly worth stopping for a visit.

Food, drinks, music, sports & NW Wisconsin's best Tiki Bar!
The best part about Gilligan's is that there's an outdoor sandpit and toys for the kids to play with, which allows tired vacation weary parents the chance to relax (and have a supper yummy adult beverage). Trivia night is fun and they often participate in...MoreBar hopping is one of our favorite pastimes! Thanks for being a fan :)

Don’t let any preconceptions of the small town brewery fool you, the Valkyrie Brewery, formerly Viking Brewery in Dallas, WI is an easy to find treasure, and a must stop when you are in the area. Probably the biggest reason to check out this brewery is that Randy and Ann brew their beers in re-purposed milk tanks that are horizontal and not vertical tanks that we have all seen in almost all breweries. Randy is very happy to explain how this creates the flavor in his beers. I liked every beer I sampled, though I admit I passed on the black licorice flavored sample that was offered; though I’m sure that the beer will appeal to those who like black licorice. The beers with names like War Hammer, Chainmail Rye Ale taste as unique as their names. This brewery is worth checking out. Watch for the “Slow Beer” road sign on the street in front of this location.

The Hydroflites are always a good time. Each year having a themed show that showcases their waterskiing talents. When the weather risk nice, you can't beat sitting by the lake and watching the show. And it's free! (Donations are encouraged) They have a stand for selling bites of food and team t-shirts, if you so desire. When in the area, th is is a not-miss. Thursday and Sunday night shows.
