Hillview Llamas

Introduction to llamas, llama husbandry, llama trekking for purposes of interest, education and enjoyment.

Reviewed By JacksonElle

Had such a great day with Richard and the Llamas. He is very welcoming and accommodating. He introduced us to all the Llamas and gave us their background stories and explained each of their personalities, which added that extra touch to the experience. We then got to walk/trek with two of the Llamas, which was delightful. Richard has extensive knowledge of Llamas and it really shows from how he cares for them and talks about them.

Blaze Farm

Reviewed By Louppg - Greater London, United Kingdom

3rd time visiting Blaze farm over the years and I love going here. Visited with an 11 year old in the Easter holidays - we enjoyed seeing the lambing, holding lambs and petting the baby goat. The farmer was giving running commentary on delivering a lamb and answered our questions well. The lambing shed entrance price was excellent value. Walked along the nature trail and had fairly close up views of the sheep and lambs and geese. There is also a peacock wondering around too! Finished off with a tasty ice cream - great value trip out with lovely animal experiences for all ages! Fab views as well from the siteacross the countryside. If you can't park on the tarmac, keep driving on through the site for parking on rougher terrain further back from the main sheds.

Oakmere Alpacas

We did the 'Meet & Greet' with afternoon tea...and I can say it is the best day I've had in 7months; a true cure for Covid lockdown fatigue. The beautiful setting; so peaceful - the gorgeously quirky alpacas, that you can't help but fall in love with and Margot who chats and takes photos for you - what an amazing place. And we got to meet Neopolitan... their 10 day old alpaca.. adorable! Then we followed that with a scrumptious afternoon tea in the lovely Chilli Bean Cafe... Wow! I truly loved ever second of it - thank-you.

This is a fantastic place for children! My 16 month old daughter had a amazing time, she loved the outdoor park, the foam bubbles that squirt out the tree every 30 minutes, the ice cream, the animals and most of all the sand and water play! The food was lovely we had toasties and the children’s picnic, all very delicious. There’s a lot that she couldn’t do due to her age but looked excellent for the older kids, such as mini golf, go karts, giant bouncing domes. It’s free to get in, so you can see the animals and play in the park area for free, then the sand play was £4.50 (adults go in for free as do under 12 months) so great value.

Kenyon Hall Farm

Join us on the farm to make memories and fall in love with food again. Farm shop, café, plant centre and play area open every day, all year round. Seasonal attractions include fruit picking during summer, maize maze, pumpkin picking, Easter egg hunts, Christmas trees and lots more throughout the year.

I first discovered Kenyon Hall Farm last October, when it must have been Pumpkin picking season as it was extremely busy. Owned by the Bulmer family, with Tod Bulmer at the helm, or should I say plough, Kenyon Hall Farm is set in over 500 acres of Cheshire and Lancashire countryside. On the site of this 'real working family farm' is the Kenyon Hall Farm Shop, full of delicious local produce. The cafe is friendly and relaxing serving home-made, hot and cold food, fresh soups, and drinks, There is a Plant Centre and Pick Your Own Fields, for all of your berries, peas, beans and pumpkins. Hours of 'fun' for all the family! Tod Bulmer is the original 'Gentleman Farmer', steering the whole operation, but he is not above chatting to the customers or helping out in the shop on one of the tills. I found Kenyon Hall Farm by accident, I left the M6 because I was feeling tired and I needed a change of scenery and to get out of my vehicle and have a walk around, so I left the motorway and drove the mile towards Leigh and saw the farm on the right. It was really busy and the had extra parking and attendants, and I was very impressed that even though there were hundreds of people there, they were able to cope. I had been so tired when I left the M6, that I left I forgot to make a mental note of the junction number, and I couldn't remember where it was. I looked on the internet but I just couldn't locate it. I began to think that I had dreamed it! Was it just like Brigadoon, and had it just vanished into the mists of time? No! I hadn't looked far enough down the M6 and it was there at junction 22 all along. I was really glad that I found it again and I have been back several times just to make sure. So, if you want an alternative to the homogenised motorway services, or you want somewhere to take the family for a few hours, fruit picking, then Kenyon Hall Farm is the place to be.

We really enjoy visiting Glebe Farm for produce. The safety procedures put in place during the Covid 19 pandemic have been excellent. At all times I have felt completely safe. The queuing system has been clearly marked out and orderly. Hand sanitiser at entry is appreciated. The butcher calling people in ensures safe distancing. The butcher is a real bonus, the meat is so fresh, good quality and tasty. I can recommend the pork chops, best ever sausages with hardly any fat and the most delicious cooked meats. The farm shop has beautiful organic vegetables, eggs, milk and cheese. I really appreciated that they were selling rice, pasta and flour at the beginning of lockdown when these items were in short supply in the supermarkets. We look forward to returning when more of the units will be open.
