Why not try the back door to Roaring Brook Falls? To get to your start: Take 70 West to 68 (heads toward Prospect), then quick left onto Tress Road, left on Cornwall Avenue in Prospect. Park at cul-de-sac by the water towers. The walk ascends quite a bit, but it's a beautiful hike to the falls. The blue trail is maintained by CFPA and is a patchwork of ownership, including town of Prospect, Cheshire, The Cheshire Land Trust and the state. Note: If you do not retrace to where you started and you descend at head of falls, you will need to have a car to get you back to Cornwall in Prospect. It's an excellent hike and different way to get to Roaring Brook Falls. Spring is best for viewing falls, followed by heavy rainfalls.

Barker Character, Comic & Cartoon Museum in Cheshire, Connecticut is a unique institution, as it is one of the most complete expressions of an American childhood through the ages. The Museum houses the personal collection of Gloria and Herbert Barker, an assembling of almost 80,000 items that took over forty years to create. The Barkers were in a select group of people, back in the 1960s, who felt that the everyday items of childhood had a value for future generations, bringing back memories, or expressing a child’s life through the ordinary toys, lunchboxes, games and tools of common usage. Since the museum opened to the public in September of 1997, the Barker family has reached out to the community in many ways. They have welcomed everyone who visited the museum, from local families to tourists from around the world, and almost everywhere in-between.
We visited Barker museum today with our granddaughter. We had a delightful chat with Rob and Mattie. We have been long time patrons of the gallery and reminisced about Myron Waldman and Mr. and Mrs. Barker. We went through the museum which if you are older brings you back to your childhood. They have all sorts of nostalgia from the days of yesteryear. Furbies, old tin toys that we played with as kids, Star Trek memorabilia and all sorts of Disney memorabilia. My granddaughter loved going through the museum and loved the art gallery. We ended up buying a Charles Fazzino that is a great addition to our Fazzino collection. I would recommend a visit to anyone that loves animation art and wants to relive some childhood memories.
