What to do and see in Chelsea, New York (NY): The Best Bars & Clubs

April 12, 2022 Fernanda Pittenger

Conquering New York in one visit is impossible. Instead, hit the must-sees – the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, the Metropolitan Museum of Art – and then explore off the beaten path with visits to The Cloisters or one of the city’s libraries. Indulge in the bohemian shops of the West Village or the fine dining of the Upper West Side. The bustling marketplace inside of Grand Central Station gives you a literal taste of the best the city has to offer.

Went out on Tuesday night with a group of ladies, had some beers and few snacks. The place was busy and lively. Easy to get there, organized, walked to our seats by concierge. The venue is intimate with great seating layout so everyone can have a excellent view of stage. Comics were all good in different ways. Was a great night out.

Enjoyed a few drinks here before heading to a Knicks game a few weeks ago. Friendly staff. Bartender gave me a round on the house despite it being my one and only time there. Cross the street and straight in to Maddison Square Garden. Ideal!

Tempest Bar

I remembered this bar from my first visit to NYC in August 2017. I made a couple more visits in September 2019 because it’s simply the friendliest bar I found in NYC. Cool staff, a great Jukebox(which is a must for me). On September 17th last year I was there with a photo of my Dad & I bought a pint of Guinness to ‘share’ with him....The barman Paddy(your dad was there that week too),asked who it was & I explained it was my dad who passed away when I was 18 & he lived in NYC in the late 1950’s & his dream & mine was to 1 come here together,Paddy said lovely story & then 1 min later bought me a pint of Guinness on him(& we know it’s not cheap in NYC) I was very touched. Then I started talking to 2 NYC Firemen from Brooklyn(best NYC accent) & the night just flowed with absolute ease. I will be back in September 2020 to have a few more Guinness's Etc here. I highly recommend this place.
