Fourteen of us came here for a stag do on one of the hottest days of the year. We arrived feeling unable to talk, think or move, but the moment we walked in and got greeted by the brewer Richard our mood changed completely. The beer was delicious, plentiful and varied and we even got to try some local cider for those that preferred. The equipment was interesting, and whilst the tour is essentially of one room it was fascinating to hear about the processes. What really made the whole tour was Richard. Throughout he was welcoming and friendly, his knowledge was immense and he clearly loved his job immensely. At the end we even got to take away a glass and a bottle. Fully recommend to anyone.

Great walk at Burrington Ham off the beaten track in the Mendips. Very small car park. Dogs love it here all those interesting smells not found in the city. Access muddy in wet weather but once on the grass it's fine. Violets, scabious, thyme etc scattered across the grass in spring and summer, blackberries in late summer. Often see buzzards overhead and there are great views from the top of the rocky outcrop. Mostly level walking but no seating areas. No toilets. There is an ice cream van in the summer. Generally pretty deserted but be aware of horse riders and cattle who have been brought in for conservation grazing.

If you are looking for a place to cycle with friends or family this place is perfect! 10 miles of traffic-free path. We hired bikes from Brean Bike Hire which is part of Bicycle Shack that have a shop in Burnham - they were great! We ended the day at Cheddar reservoir and rested our legs. Can't recommend this cycle path enough. The only downside can be parking!

Clay pigeon shooting was on my bucket list and today I got the chance to try it out. What a fantastic experience this was and I’m looking forward to returning. I went with my husband and there were 2 others in our group. Graham was our instructor and he was brilliant talking us through all the safety instructions and guiding us individually giving us opportunities to go over anything we were unsure of. He was a great support and made us feel at ease. If this is something you’re interested in trying I can thoroughly recommend it.
