This review is for the campground. If you are a nature lover, you will love this campground. Absolutely beautiful. Private sites with lots of trees and shrubs between you and the next campers. The bathrooms were clean and the showers were adequate. If you choose the last loop of the campground, the sites will be right on the river. The middle loop's sites are on higher ground. They provide bear boxes for your food because there is a lot of wildlife in the campground. Firewood is provided there but nothing else (they do have water and a sink at the restrooms) so buy all your supplies before you get there. Walk right from your site to hiking trails. This place is a gem.

My family of 4 stayed in the Main House Apartment at the Warfield House and spent 2 days skiing at Berkshire East. I can't recommend this enough. We typically go north to ski, but with COVID travel restrictions we wanted to get away but stay in state. The apartment was beautiful, clearly recently redone and had everything we needed. I felt super clean and safe, and my kids thought sleeping on the pull-out sofa was the best adventure ever. Big bonus was the gorgeous views, both during the day and with the mountain lit up at night. We chose Berkshire East over other western MA ski areas because based on reviews and their website, it looked like they really had their act together with COVID and the price for both staying and skiing can't be beat. Our choice was spot on - ticket pickup was so simple, online food ordering worked like a charm, and lift lines moved really quickly. We didn't see anyone without a mask the entire time, and I was so thrilled to find the West Lodge basically empty on an otherwise busy Sunday morning so I could let my 3-year-old take his snack break without freezing fingers. We have not eaten indoors in public since COVID, so this says a lot that I felt so comfortable. I am truly so grateful for the awesome weekend and first real getaway in a year!

This was so much fun. The long slow ride up the mountain is perfect pace to enjoy the scenery. The ride down is crazy fast but a lot of fun.

Hail to the Sunrise / Mohawk Park

This small park, perfect for a picnic, is home to the "Hail to the Sunrise" statue, a tribute to the Native Americans who greeted the first settlers to the area.

If this doesn't move you, then you are not a true American. If you have a heart, it will inspire you. It's a pleasure and some pain to see this grand tribute to the American Indians. Tucked away in the beautiful, peaceful and total solitude of the forest as it should be. And please, don't score my review negatively because I used the politically incorrect term "American Indian", we are all Americans and no different. Giving them any other moniker demeans them and casts them as something different than everyone else, no better nor worse, but with a sad, sad history. Being a large proportion American Indian, I say this with pride,
