Of all 4 dhams I must say with certainity I found Badrinath most beautiful. Gangotri-Gaumukh is at second place for me. Badrinath is vast open beautiful picture postcard landscape with wide beautiful valley view, and awesome pilgrimage + sightseeing route through Mana Village to Vasudhara Falls. There are hot water kunds near main temple called Tap Kund and Narad Kund latter being closer to river Alaknanda. The temple darshan however is highly restricted these days. You get darshan from window of temple outer wall from where you see the Lord some 10-15 feet away sadly. Only those who pay for special pujan and darshans are allowed inside the temple. Darshan queue can be huge May-Jun and can take 2-6 hours. Other places to visit are Mana Village through there Nar-Narayan temple on one side and on other Saraswati-Alaknanda rivers sangam, Lord Ganesha-Ved Vyas caves, Mansarovar Stream, Bhim Pul, Saraswati River, Saraswati Temple, Draupadi Temple. These are within 1.5-2.5 kms walk in same area around Mana village. And finally Vasudhara Falls from Saraswati & Draupadi temples endpoint of Manaa 5-6 kms further trek up the glaciers. See my reviews on these places. See my review for Vasudhara Falls for details of trek! Darshan closes by 9.30 PM night!

Nothing can describe the ultimate pilgrimage of Hindu religion. The seat of Lord Jagannath, literally the king of the world. From the vast temple complex, to the intricate carvings on the walls of the structure,to the flag which always flies in the opposite direction of the wind to the sanctum sanctorum where only the privileged see the Lord and his siblings is a very humbling experience. The kitchen is huge and cooking is done for approximately 50000 people daily by an army of cooks in only earthen vessels on a wood fire and water drawn from wells within the complex. This temple along with Konark should be on top of the bucket list when visiting Odisha, India.

The Bimala Temple is a Shakti Peetha in the South Western side within the Jagannath temple complex. The Goddess is considered to be the gurdian of Lord Jagannath and such is the importance of this temple that the prasad offered to Lord Jagannath is complete and becomes Maha prasad only after the offering is made to the Goddess!!

Ramanathaswamy Temple is one of the revered and Holy Temple for Hindus in India,A perfect blend of mind-boggling architecture and spiritual significance, Rameshwaram Temple, also known as Ramanathaswamy Temple of Tamil Nadu is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It also boasts of being one of the 12 Jyotirlinga temples of India. Not just spiritually, Rameshwaram Temple is appealing architecturally also. With the longest corridor of the world and immaculate carvings on pillars, it is definitely a treat for your eyes. The lingam in the Rameshwaram Temple was installed by Lord Rama but, the construction was led by several rulers over the centuries. Inside the temple, there are two lingams- Ramalingam and Shivalingam. The latter is still worshipped first to preserve the words of Lord Rama. The twenty-two holy water bodies of the Ramanathaswamy Temple come to the rescue of people living a life full of regrets and those who want to absolve their sins. To attain salvation, devotees flock here to worship Lord Shiv and take dips in sacred water. The Rameshwaram Temple has a striking architecture which allures tourists from all over the world. Like all other temples in South India, it has a high wall or madil which guards the temple from all four sides. The wall measures about 865 feet from east to west and 675 feet from north to south. The long corridors running between huge colonnades on five feet high platforms forms part of the temple's interior. The second corridor is built with sandstone pillars, beams and ceiling. On the west lies the third corridor which paves the way to Setumadhava shrine. The total length of these corridors is around 3850 feet and are reputed to be the longest in the world. It's a man made marvel that has been designed to connect Rameswaram island with main land. It's a long bridge that has been constructed in the Bay if Bengal. It's more than 2 Kms long. It's a man made marvel that is being erected on the Palk Straight. Unfortunately we can't park our car in the bridge. But we can walk on the bridge and adore the beauty of the sea.

Nageshwar Mahadev is one of the 12 Jyotirling of Mahadev. Somnath Mahadev and this one are located in Gujarat. During winter of 2019 I could get opportunity to have a glimpse of Lord Shiva. This temple is accessible from Dwarka. The temple is beautiful and grand. When I reached there, I got the darshan within 30 minutes. Only a little crowd was there. Prasad is sold inside temple premises. Darshan of Lord Shiva is available from a distance of 2-3 meter. After darshan one can meditate and worship Lord Shiva by sitting in a platform opposite to it. I was lucky to have glimpse of this holy Jyotirling. None can review or rate such holy place but I am writing here just to tell my experience . Om Namo Shivay.
