February 3, 2022 Oliva Fomby

Known by the German name "Budweis" in the 19th century, the south Bohemian city of Ceske Budejovice has been a center of brewing since the 13th century. The original inspiration for the American version, Budwar or Budweiser beer remains one of the most popular in the country. The vast, beautiful Námesti Otakar II square is the site of stately Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque buildings, including the beautiful 1727 town hall. Buses and trolleys link areas, and cycling paths run through the city.

We recently used Sebastian Tours for (2) private transfers between Prague-Cesky Krumlov-Vienna. Communication with Petr to set up the transfers was flawless. He was very responsive to my queries and addressed all questions promptly. Our driver was Lucas who arrived on time in a comfortable Mercedes van to pick us from our hotel in Prague. We had a very enjoyable drive to Cesky Krumlov where we spent 2 nites (fantastic). Then Lucas picked us up again and drove us to the Vienna cruise port. Our riverboat was docked at an out-of-the-way location and Lucas was excellent in figuring out how to get there. All in all a very positive experience with Sebastian Tours. I highly recommend them.

10. Day trip from Cesky Krumlov to the Hluboká Castle - Budvar beer tasting included

Kaplická 194, Horní Brána, 381 01 Český Krumlov, Czechia Eszter Sarody Guided tours in South Bohemia

This comfortable day trip in private car/minibus tour includes the visit of the Castle of Hluboka nad Vltavou, the city of Ceske Budejovice and the visit of the Budvar brewery with beer tasting. The tour is 6-7 hours long with a comfortable rhythm of walking, free time and bus ride. I believe that travelling makes each person richer, but only if you learn to feel the places you have been to. Walking through cities without knowing the story behind can still be wonderful, but will you remember? Do, learn, feel, taste, savour and all your destinations will become part of you, and remembering where pictures were taken will not need any GPS coordinates.

Inclusions: Beer tasting, Private tour, Professional art historian guide, Round-trip private transfer, Bottled water

Exclusions: Food and drinks, unless specified, Lunch, Landing and facility fees, Gratuities

Ezster knows the history of the town and region extremely well - in fact she even had information to share about a minor house where one of my relatives was born - and she is a wonderful human being to spend a couple of hours with. Altogether outstanding and great value.
