For families from across the Midwest and the nation, it means a beautiful vacation destination, complete with lodging, dining, and relaxation. For the golf community, it means a 72-hole golf resort nestled on the shores of Torch Lake and Lake Michigan in 3 beautiful, highly sought after, Northern Michigan locations. For everyone, it means the perfect destination for group trips, membership & daily-fee-play, dreamlike weddings, legendary family reunions, celebrations and more!

A-ag-ming is a great place for golf groups. There are three distinct golf courses (Antrim Dells, Torch and Sundance). The Sundance course is one of the best values in Michigan golf. The resort condos are perfect for a group of eight or more. The resort is also conveniently located between Elk Rapids and Charlevoix, two great northern Michigan places to visit in the Summer.

If you have an extra hour, you really should stop and hand pick whichever fruit(s) are in season. They will provide you a nifty tray and containers for your picking convenience. The quality of their produce is no comparison to the tasteless, fragrant lacking junk you are forced to buy at your local grocer/big box store.

The whole experience is so much fun. My family picked raspberries and strawberries. The berries were so big that our baskets were filled in no time and we found ourselves picking twice as much as we intended. The staff is sooo helpful and genuinely nice. It was such a lovely time. I also wanted to add that I don't usually like strawberries; however, I truly couldn't stop eating the ones I picked. Apparently I like real strawberries and not the commercial ones.

We stopped here on vacation on the advice of someone local. This was a small park with a campground and playground area. We came for the beach and the view was great! We loved the quiet. Only one other couple on the beach. There is sand but also many pretty rocks for skipping or collecting. The shore was a little rocky so I would recommend water shoes if you want to swim and have tender feet.

Bachmann's Store

One of the few surviving five and dime stores, Bachmann's has been an integral part of downtown Central Lake since 1942. The historic building still has its original wood floors and the ornate old vault from when it was a bank. Bachmann's motto is, "If we don't have it, you don't need it!" Name it, you can find it here. Currently owned by the third Bachmann generation, you can tell how much they love their store. While making the circuit around Torch Lake on our way to Charlevoix, we passed by this orchard and saw a U-Pick sign so we stopped. The owners were delightful and made us feel very welcome. We picked some raspberries and cherries.....both delicious. They also have a store with jams, salsas, etc. If you're not from Michigan and love cherries or raspberries, the experience is worth driving out of your way.

Bee Well Mead and Cider

My sons and I had a great time sampling the 9 different ciders and meads that they have available. I liked the King's Cherry cider the best and bought 4 bottles to take home. My sons ended up with over a case of cider of various flavors. The co-owner took the time to explain his various products and some of the unique places he goes to get the various fruits he uses. We could also watch the bottling process as some of the bottles came straight from the tank. It was a great way to spend over an hour to taste and learn about ciders and meads. I will be stopping by again when I am in the area. Very enjoyable.

Glacial Hills Pathway and Natural Area

Reviewed By Tansy2015 - Brighton, Michigan

If you like to hike, this is the best hike I have ever been on in Michigan! It is just one mile from town, simple to find down a residential street, and well worth going to again and again!

The extreme ecological diversity found at the Glacial Hills Pathway and Natural Area here is beyond anything I have ever seen before. There are 12 distinct habitat types, including two hardwood forest types, three wetland habitats, and the shrub thicket and wet mesic forest types that support more than 20 species of trees, over 100 species of flowers, and over 100 species of birds, including great-horned owls, eagles and the threatened red-shoulder hawk.

Wow.
