A-Ga-Ming means many things. To the Native Americans, it is a word meaning "on the shore." For families from across the Midwest and the nation, it means a beautiful vacation destination, complete with lodging, dining, and relaxation. For the golf community, it means a 72-hole golf resort nestled on the shores of Torch Lake and Lake Michigan in 3 beautiful, highly sought after, Northern Michigan locations. For everyone, it means the perfect destination for group trips, membership & daily-fee-play, dreamlike weddings, legendary family reunions, celebrations and more!
A-ag-ming is a great place for golf groups. There are three distinct golf courses (Antrim Dells, Torch and Sundance). The Sundance course is one of the best values in Michigan golf. The resort condos are perfect for a group of eight or more. The resort is also conveniently located between Elk Rapids and Charlevoix, two great northern Michigan places to visit in the Summer.

King Orchards is a family owned and operated fruit farm focused on pick your own fruit. We actively grow Montmorency tart cherries, Balaton cherries, black sweet cherries, apples, peaches, pears, apricots, plums and nectarines. Our orchards are located in the heart of Michigan's famed cherry growing region, just 35 minutes north of Traverse City and 45 minutes south of Petoskey. Our two farm markets offer convenient locations for the majority of Northern Michigan travelers and residents. We pride ourselves in our orchards that are pruned and maintained specifically for you pick fruit.
If you have an extra hour, you really should stop and hand pick whichever fruit(s) are in season. They will provide you a nifty tray and containers for your picking convenience. The quality of their produce is no comparison to the tasteless, fragrant lacking junk you are forced to buy at your local grocer/big box store.
The whole experience is so much fun. My family picked raspberries and strawberries. The berries were so big that our baskets were filled in no time and we found ourselves picking twice as much as we intended. The staff is sooo helpful and genuinely nice. It was such a lovely time. I also wanted to add that I don't usually like strawberries; however, I truly couldn't stop eating the ones I picked. Apparently I like real strawberries and not the commercial ones.

We stopped here on vacation on the advice of someone local. This was a small park with a campground and playground area. We came for the beach and the view was great! We loved the quiet. Only one other couple on the beach. There is sand but also many pretty rocks for skipping or collecting. The shore was a little rocky so I would recommend water shoes if you want to swim and have tender feet.

One of the few surviving five and dime stores, Bachmann's has been an integral part of downtown Central Lake since 1942. The historic building still has its original wood floors and the ornate old vault from when it was a bank. Bachmann's motto is, "If we don't have it, you don't need it!" Name it, you can find it here. Currently owned by the third Bachmann generation, you can tell how much they love their store. Great service, free gift wrapping, and friendly knowledgeable clerks make Bachmann's stand above the rest. Add a great selection of toys, gifts, resort wear, souvenirs, and a legendary penny candy counter--and you have a one-of-a-kind shopping destination!
Love love love Bachmanns. If you need it they have it. Penny candy and Minnetonka moccassins, clothes and toys, spices and household goods. Always smiling owners with Central Lake pizazz. Buy yor tshirt there or sweatshirt if you are chilly. Stop at Bachmann's and youll enjoy the time spent there

This place is seasonally closed. It will reopen in MAY 2017. Come out and see our beautiful orchard and views of Lake Michigan. We are a family fruit farm, with pick your own cherries and raspberries. Our farm bakery makes fresh pies daily along with hot coffee and donuts. Montmorency tart cherry juice is always in season. We have a large parking lot for easy buss and RV parking.
While making the circuit around Torch Lake on our way to Charlevoix, we passed by this orchard and saw a U-Pick sign so we stopped. The owners were delightful and made us feel very welcome. We picked some raspberries and cherries.....both delicious. They also have a store with jams, salsas, etc. If you're not from Michigan and love cherries or raspberries, the experience is worth driving out of your way.

Mammoth is a Northern Michigan craft distiller of bourbon, rye, whiskey, vodka, gin and rum. Our "Old Dam" gin is especially unique and is made with six botanicals including lavender, and locally sourced white pine. Come in for a tasting of our spirits, to buy a bottle for home, or to have a craft cocktail!
Excellent spirits handcrafted in Michigan. Locally made and sourced. Their small retail space across the street from Torch Lake is has a really cool, rustic vibe going with lots of good swag available for purchase. Very friendly folks working in the place who are clearly passionate about the product.

My sons and I had a great time sampling the 9 different ciders and meads that they have available. I liked the King's Cherry cider the best and bought 4 bottles to take home. My sons ended up with over a case of cider of various flavors. The co-owner took the time to explain his various products and some of the unique places he goes to get the various fruits he uses. We could also watch the bottling process as some of the bottles came straight from the tank. It was a great way to spend over an hour to taste and learn about ciders and meads. I will be stopping by again when I am in the area. Very enjoyable.

When was the last time you received friendly, personalized service at your local meat market? That's exactly what you'll get here plus the best meat your money can buy. Whether its their in-house made jerky, smoked whitefish pate, sausages, fresh fish or meats, the fine folks at the Bellaire Smokehouse will provide you with the very best. Their steaks are hand cut to order and will rival anything you could ever get in the best steakhouse in a big city. They also have a great selection of specialty and microbrew beer and wine. We are always delighted with anything we get from them. Order in advance around holidays to ensure availability so you won't be disappointed. Its no secret that they are the best around!

Put Adams Madams, in Central Lake, Michigan, on your destination list for places that you must visit. The store truly captures and displays the unique atmosphere of the Northwest corner of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula. It will be worth your trip. Upon entering the building built in the late 1800’s, you are met with a soothing and pleasant atmosphere. Here you will renew old friendships and make new ones as our friendly staff looks forward to greeting all of our customers. Meander through the 4 large showrooms and take your time as you don’t want to miss a thing.
A mish-mash of giftware, home decor, jewelry, women's accessories and art in the back room. It seems disorganized and random. You might or might not find anything of interest but you'll have to browse through it all to find it. If you're just window shopping, it might be entertaining.

If you like to hike, this is the best hike I have ever been on in Michigan! It is just one mile from town, simple to find down a residential street, and well worth going to again and again!
The extreme ecological diversity found at the Glacial Hills Pathway and Natural Area here is beyond anything I have ever seen before. There are 12 distinct habitat types, including two hardwood forest types, three wetland habitats, and the shrub thicket and wet mesic forest types that support more than 20 species of trees, over 100 species of flowers, and over 100 species of birds, including great-horned owls, eagles and the threatened red-shoulder hawk.
Wow.
