The Singapore cityscape looks like it was ripped from the pages of a science fiction comic book. If you’re hungry for a true Singapore experience, sample the myriad street foods or take a cultural cooking class. The Botanic Gardens and the Gardens By the Bay offer a slice of horticultural heaven, and the observation deck of the Sands SkyPark makes you feel like you’re high above the clouds. The banks and walkways along the Singapore River bustle with local activity.

A 30 year old traditional Chinese tea house located 9 Neil Road is a two-storey shophouse in Second Transitional Shophouse Style and features distinctive decorative wall mouldings on the front façade. It is located within the Tanjong Pagar area of Chinatown Historic District, an area rich in 19th century urban heritage
We came to Tea Chapter to look for Zisha teapots manufactured in Yixing, China. The shop has a nice range of Zisha and porcelain teapots to brew Chinese tea leaves. Some of the Zisha teapots have certificates of authenticity from the craftsmen while others do not. Prices vary, depending on the skills of the craftsmen. The shop has a good variety of Chinese tea leaves. Small canisters provide customers with the smell of tea leaves. Staff Angie and May Eng explained the different tea leaves to my wife and me. They also helped us with the teapots. Both were patient with our enquiries. Located along Neil Road, the Peranakan styled shophouse is well designed in complementary traditional decor that suits the old-world charm of Chinese tea trading business. Tea leaves and tea ware are neatly displayed for browsing and purchase.

My husband and I spent a couple of hours at Yixing Xuan Teahouse with Charlene, learning the history and art of making the perfect pot of tea. A fascinating way to relax and spend time in Chinatown. We look forward to continuing the practice back in Australia.

Chinese tea drinking is an amalgamation of tea ware, tea leaves, brewing methods and even drinking techniques. When my wife and I recently visited Enjoy Tea, the owner Michael Teo distilled his years of enjoying Chinese tea and helped us to better understand the art and science of enjoying Chinese tea. Tea products are creatively displayed on open shelves as well as on a long table in the centre. The more expensive teapots are displayed inside glass cupboards. As items caught our eye, Michael would take them for our inspection and explain their origin and use. There is a wide range of available products and prices vary to suit different budgets. At the end of our 1.5 hours' visit, we bought an exceptional oolong tea with price to match. We also purchased 2 lovely Ruyao tea cups with Seigaiha design.

The Corner Shop Singapore is a place created in October 2015 in the heart of the historic district of Chinatown. The owners realized that Singapore lacked a place which would bring together asian design of household, office supplies, kitchen and gardening cool goods with welcome refreshment and food areas. A business established in the heart of South East Asia and of its country, Singapore.

Three generations old family run business of Oriental antiques, arts and craft in Singapore. Trading collectibles from porcelains, wood, jades, paintings, calligraphy and Yixing teapots. Organised Talks, auctions and exhibitions in the small 5000 sqft in the heart of Singapore Chinatown.
I had the pleasure of meeting the founder of Chan Ngee, Mr Goh Yong Chiang, and his son, Seng Ngee, at their shop recently. Besides the shop being a repository of artefacts dating back to the Qing Dynasty, as well as more affordable vintage items, it was amazing to hear fascinating stories about the Singapore of yore from its owners. The elder Goh, who is so warm and friendly, is a treasure trove of lively anecdotes of the past. He even performed the traditional Gongfu tea ceremony for me (with amazing deftness for an 80-year-old!) as we chatted. So grateful to be privy to one of Singapore's authentic historical narratives. His son, Seng Ngee, gives lots of context to the various pieces in the shops. The shop specialises in Yingxi teapots which are made of a super absorbant clay that retains the flavour of tea. They are also holding an exhibition on local and Chinese artisans their upper floor, which I suggest you go check out.

My family and I were walking by his store front and I turned around and walked in to see what this place was all about. I know people that have purchased suits and clothing when traveling to Asia and they have always recommended I do the same if I'm ever there. Harry was right there to answer my questions and show me all of the different options. 15 minutes later I was measured for a new suit and new button downs. ended up purchasing two wool/cashmere (very nice!) suits with an incredible silk liner and four button downs. They all fit me perfectly, are extremely well made, and the materials are unique and high quality. The cost of the custom suits & custom shirts was very fair, well worth the money I spent. Harry is a great guy running a great business. His suits and shirts are easily the highest quality available. I will be ordering additional suits and shirts in the future. Thank you Harry!
