I couldn't do a weekend getaway in the Catskills and not visit a vineyard. So off to Google I went, and boom! I found Bashakill Vineyards. Bashakill Vineyards offers live music, wine, spirits (for my serious drinkers lol), and uses locally sourced food. Tips 1. Be prepared to park along the road. 2. Yes, dogs are allowed. 3. Try before you buy. They offer a wine tasting that includes four samples. 4. Check the hours ahead of time. 5. Get the crab burger! Happy drinking!

We have been visiting the Canal Towne Emporium nearly every summer for the past 15 years, when we have stayed in the area. This is primarily a gift shop but they also have a selection of beautiful furniture, food items and Catskill/nature books. It's easy to spend an hour or more browsing the various sections and levels, because there is something for everybody in this place. They also have a Christmas Store that is open all year long, and a very large collection of chiming and musical clocks. I have never left the store without purchasing something.
