What a special trip! We visited sonja and dicks incredible farm with our 21 month old daughter and felt so lucky to experience what their life is like. They have chickens, goats, sheep, a horse, donkey, dogs, cats, pigs. Our daughter loved seeing all of the animals and being able to pet them and feed them! Sonja brings you along during her morning and evening feeds and shares her knowledge of rearing countless animals over their +40 years of farming. They also have a beautiful organic garden that they shared with us. We stayed in their apartment for the weekend. The one bedroom apartment had plenty of space for us and a fully equipped kitchen. They let us use a portable crib for our toddler who slept very comfortably. We ate fresh eggs and greens from the garden for breakfast - such a treat! We brought food for lunches and dinners which worked out really well. We also picked up bbq from the smoke joint (15 min drive, outdoor eating by a river, live music) one night and it was great! Thank you for inviting us into your lives for a weekend Sonja and dick! We had such a wonderful time! Highly recommend for families with a young kid who want an authentic farm stay experience!!

Woodstock Farm Sanctuary envisions a peaceful world rooted in respect and justice for all living beings. We rescue farmed animals and give them care and sanctuary, connect animals with people to advance veganism, and advocate for animal rights in alliance with other social justice movements. We welcome visitors to come and meet animals who are most commonly exploited, abused, and killed in animal agriculture. Our animal residents are given lifelong sanctuary and are treated with respect as individuals. By giving farmed animals the chance to live their lives with dignity and by sharing their stories, we advocate for veganism and aim to reduce suffering for all.
Woodstock Farm Sanctuary is a spectacular place to tour, meet the rescued animals, and learn about animal agriculture. We visited as part of our stay at the Gray Barn (the beautiful on-site bed and breakfast). Woodstock is such a special place, and it’s only minutes from Mohonk Mountain House. It’s great for couples and families alike.

Do not miss DM Weil gallery if you are in the New Paltz area! Donna's art is absolutely stunning--vibrant, colorful, joyful, radiating light. Donna works on premises and it is so special to hear her talk about her wonderful art on display. Donna, Sammy, and Ken are so sweet and welcoming, as well as incredibly knowledgeable with regards to both the art and the many printing services they do in house. This was a wonderful place to spend the afternoon, not to mention I picked up the most unique hand-painted overalls!

This sculpture park was intended to house the works of the designer, but the setting itself became the artist's masterwork. It is possible to visit by appointment on non-open days.

Nestled in the lush green hills of Marlboro you will find Benmarl Winery. Overlooking the historic Hudson River Valley, it’s 37 acre estate lays claim to the oldest vineyard in America. The winery also holds New York Farm Winery license no.1.
The view at Benmarl Vineyard is just breathtaking. The services was excellent and the wines were everything you needed in a good glass of wine. I loved the experience at this Vineyard from the arrival to the end the service was top notch. The food was very delicious, the pizza is one of my favorite which is made on premises. Benmarl have some of the best pizza period. The cheese spread is another excellent choice. My favorite wine at Benmarl is the semi dry riesling this wine is so refreshing. I ended purchasing several bottles. If you are ever in the area this is a must do.

Through our award-winning Main Exhibit—“Woodstock and The Sixties”—varied and engaging special exhibitions, growing collection of artifacts and reference materials, museum programs for children, youth, and adults, and the preserved historic site, the Museum immerses visitors in the story of the societal evolution of the 1960s, connecting visitors to the roots of today’s freedom of expression and the resurgent human spirit that defined the politics, music, art, and societal issues of that remarkable and challenging decade.
This museum has it all and it takes you back to the 1960s like no other museum does. On the grounds is the site of the 1969 Woodstock Music and Arts Fair, and also known as Woodstock. It was and still is, the greatest concert (it lasted three days) in music history. The Museum at Bethel Woods covers that time in August of 1969 in a way that you will feel like you were there. Just a great experience and a must-see. George Vreeland Hill
