The gardens are right next to the caravan park and a beautiful spot for a morning walk. It's interesting to read all the plaques explaining about the history of the gardens.

Lovely historic building. Worth walking through - doesn’t take long, and learning about it’s significance when built. Interesting art work for sale on display.

The Castlemaine Visitor Centre is in the historic Market Building. They can tell you all you need to know about Castlemaine, an historic gold town. By the way, check with them before you go somewhere, as the attraction may be temporarily closed, especially in wwinter.

Castlemaine Farmers' Market

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

The idea of a Farmers' Market is that farmers sell their produce directly to their consumers, with no middle man. This means that the produce is fresh, out of the fields, and also customers know that the money they pay goes directly to the farmer. Castlemaine is a thriving regional city, easily accessible by car or train, about an hour's travel from Melbourne. The market sells local produce such as meat, fruit vegetables and other products from local and regional sources. The Castlemaine Farmers' Market is held regularly, depending on the circumstances.
