This award-winning Museum is home to the National Folklife Collection which represents traditional life in Ireland throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Fascinating artefacts deal with domestic life, agriculture, fishing and hunting, clothing and textiles, furniture and fittings, trades and crafts, transport, sports and leisure and religion. Set in the spectacular grounds of Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo the Museum treats visitors to a taste of how our ancestors lived their daily lives, in both difficult and joyful times. The excellent ‘hands-on’ public programmes which run throughout the year, consist of art and craft workshops, demonstrations and performances and runs alongside the exciting programme of temporary exhibitions which are ongoing throughout the year. Really enjoyed this National Museum of Ireland -the only outside Dublin- Enjoyed all the exhibits especially the the Impact Electrification had on the Lives of Irish Women. Fantastic place to visit!!

The Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, has been providing an arts service to the people of Mayo for the last 20 years. Housed in one of the oldest existing linen halls in Ireland in the heart of Castlebar town, is home to a gorgeous intimate performance space, a visual art gallery, coffee shop, and an art workshop space. The Linenhall programmes local, national and international arts events and activities; supports those working in the arts who live in the region and provides opportunities for all in the community to participate in making art.

It offers 10 Pin Bowling, 7 Screen Cinema, Q-2000 Laser, Nokey's Adventureland, Moviebowl Diner, Video games, Leisure Club, Hogs Heaven Bar and Garbo's party venue. It caters for birthday parties, school tours, family outings, special needs groups, group outings and work parties. It is open 7 days a week with free parking facilities.
The bowling here is amazing value and the lanes are very good. The group that I went with all had a ball when we went here.
