I really liked Castelo de Vide! The old quarter with its narrow cobbled streets, the castle, numerous old churches, synagogue museum, fountains and a lot of cafés and restaurants. The town (city) is not very big and everything is within walking distance. The main square, Praça Dom Pedro V, is a good location to find accommodation and in the centre of that square is the town's tourist office. One usually associates a city centre as being the central business district, full of shops of various kinds. Castelo de Vide though is not the kind of town one visits to go shopping, but rather to relax, enjoy some historical sights and to use as a base for exploring the region. Highly recommended.

we had a chance to visit the Casa Amarela, is a boutique hotel just on the square across from the Municipality, the colour of the building catches your eye very quickly, and the rooms and dining room are tastefully organized and very comfy. Next time that I visit and stay over in town, will try to stay here, but from what I see it is beautiful

one of the highlights of the visit to the jewish quarter of Castelo de Vide, the museum is very well kept and shows how the site served many other purposes than the religious one, it meant it was part of the center of jewish life in town
