We booked the long tour in English and it was perfect. A must see in Puglia and if your legs are able to carry you this far the long tour is definitely worth the 3€ plus compared to the short tour. Our guide was Claudio and he was the best, guiding us with funny stories, a lovely smile and perfect English.

We were on a 16 day holiday making our way around Italy with Leger Holidays, we had the opportunity to make a visit to these caves, We met the guide and made our way down the steep steps into the network of caves at the castellana grotte this was very interesting, you have steps and slippery and uneven surfaces to walk, and you do need a coat, the guide was very good and gave us a excellent commentary as we went around, we came back up to the surface via a lift. Well worth a visit.
