Beautiful ancient village on the hill of Saint Angel in the Protected Area of Cilento. You can see it dominate the seaside from his high. When you will arrive on the square in front of the castle of the abbot you will be charme by the view on the Cilento area and a wonderful sea. On days with little haze you will able to see the Amalfi coast. If you have seen the movie Wellcome to the South (2010) you will be impressed by the small road and squares . The post office is a pub....

It is very interesting to visit 800 years old well preserved castle. It is open late in the evening, ticket is cheap. From castle entrance there is amazing sea-view, specially at sunset.

Start at San Marco, Castellabate, 50 min walk along signed private track past villas, some views, to a tiny port and rocky shore. Or start at private entrance to Tenuta Licosa, far west end of Olgiastro Marina, some free parking, the whole promontory is privately owned. From here a flat walk along tarmac partly shaded minor road, if there is no barrier down then locals say just drive in to Punta Licosa and park right there! At Punta tremendous views over to Capri and Sorrentine peninsula - swim in beautiful aquamarine waters, shallow out to the little island with lighthouse, or back along coast path. If snorkelling is really your thing then just stay at the Olgiastro Marina end, un aqua stupenda, abundant fish and posedonia algae, occasional moray & crabs, swim along around corner of Olgiastro tower towards Punta Licosa, tiny bays, water’s so clear you feel as though you’re ‘flying’ gently over the seabed of wonderful slanting slabs of rock 1 - 15m deep if you go out a bit - its stunning snorkelling as great as Sardinia or Giglio with almost nobody else - enjoy!!
