This free museum is the best place to get an overall history lesson about the Westward movement of people on the Oregon, Mormon and California trails. These trails went through Wyoming. Watch the 18 min film first then explore the museum. While not a huge museum it is very well organized and has many great interactive features. We were very impressed. The gift shop has great books. The staff were very friendly. Definitely a must see if you are interested in the trails.

Welcome to the Ugly Bug Fly Shop. Since 1983 The Ugly Bug has supplied the fly-fishers in Wyoming and around the country with the best in gear and advice. Stop by often to check our new specials and check on current conditions around Wyoming.
We booked a couples fly fishing trip through Crazy Rainbow, and stayed at the "River Cabin" the sister business to the Ugly Bug, took a float trip on Friday and Saturday. Accommodations were very nice the location of the cabin was awesome. Booking through he Ugly Bug was seamless. I want to give a lot of credit to our guides, Ben and John Robinson, who made it a fantastic fishing trip. Even in deep muddy water we were successful catching multiple quality fish. We will return in the Fall.

There's so much in this small museum you could spend hours learning about extinct animals without even beginning to explore the rocks and minerals! I think that anyone interested in paleontology from age 6 and older would get a lot out of a visit.

A warm welcome from two lively volunteers got us off to a great start and having followed the Oregon trail so far across the country, we were glad to put the next piece in place by taking a closer look at how the settlers crossed the river near here. A great range of exhibits and information, very accessible and well presented.

Located in the heart of an old Army Air Force Base, the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum preserves and shares the personal and intimate stories of Wyoming's Veterans. From the Spanish-American War to the present day, the WVMM covers all branches of service. Visitors to the Museum can explore the individual experiences of World War I doughboys in France or those of a naval aviator in Vietnam. Our collection includes over 25,000 military and veterans-related items. Beyond veteran history, the Museum also explores the history of the Casper Army Air Base. Built after Pearl Harbor, the base trained B-17 and B-24 bomber crews. Over 16,000 men passed through Casper on their way to Europe, Africa, or the Pacific. The Museum occupies the former Enlisted Men's Service Club, one of many base buildings remaining.
