The Village Green is a 12.5 acre privately owned park open year around for public use and enjoyment for the entire community. The Village Green is located in the heart of Cashiers, at the crossroads of Highway 64 and Highway 107. The Village Green is the venue for community events such as concerts and festivals. The park also features a giant wooden children's playground.

My husband and I have been coming to Highlands / Cashiers for years with our 4 kids. Now all in college we adopted a puppy and brought him with us. We have walked him at this park almost everyday. It is so beautiful. Art sculptures, colorful flowers, gardens, bridges, benches, picnic tables, grills, pavilions, huge community center and a fantastic wooded playground area that our kids would have LOVED. So much open space that is very well maintained. Perfect place for our daily walks.

Fine Ladies and Men's Consignment. Our Ladies Store is over 5000 sq. feet and features Ladies Lines of Chico, Talbots, St John and everyday wear of Wrangler, Levis, Polo, etc. Also Jewelry from Fine Costume pieces to One of a Kind Estate pieces. In the Winter we carry many Fabulous Furs. We have a dedicated store for just Shoes and Purses. With over 1200 Pairs of shoes and Hundreds of Purses you are sure to find something for The Evening or something Playful to wear during the day. We have Hats for all Occasions. Derby Hats and Garden Party themes or something for the Boat and Club. And of course our Mens store called Vics For Men. Located in a vintage 1920's Log Cabin located 100 yards down the Hill from our Ladies stores. At the Mens store has everyday wear of Pants, Jeans, Shirts, Hiking gear and room dedicated to shoes from size 7-15. We have Fine Suits and Sport Coats sz 36-56. Also a Picnic and Playground on the Property for your family to use.

Have been shopping at VC for many years. Love it! We visit the area once or twice every year and can’t wait to see what they’ve added to the shop. Always have great shoes and purses. Quality things at reasonable prices.

Although I have lived in Asheville for 30 years, I had never heard of the "Shadow of the Bear" until a few weeks ago. My daughter and I decided we needed to check it out so we drove out there last Thursday. It was a sunny & cloud-free day (perfect conditions). They were about 20 people there on that day. I agree with others that parking is difficult and it's dangerous to cross the street. The shadow started forming and took the shape of several different animals... turtle, mouse, beaver, floppy-eared dog, pig, and bear. It wasn't the most spectacular thing I've ever seen, but I have to admit, it really was kinda cool!

I visited Panthertown and took an all day hike up, down, and around mountains and waterfalls. I purchased the map you can find online by Burt Kornegay, and have a hard time imagining hiking without it. The trails have scant blazing and there are many social trails. You can easily get turned around if you are not prepared. As an added bonus, the map will include the social trails that will lead you to hidden waterfalls that very few people visit. I have lots more exploration to go at this park, but it's the most fun I have had outdoors in West Carolina. The best part is that this park is less frequented by others and you are likely not to see many people during the day. This is a must do when venturing into nature in the area.

The last time I was able to swim in an ice cold waterfall swimming hole my was in Hawaii! Didn’t know I could do it right here in NC. Absolutely beautiful and amazing experience. Water is ICE COLD ... woulda been even better had it been super hot out! So exhilarating.. and super easy walk to it! Parking can b dangerous cuz it’s basically on the side of a highway.

Well-maintained hiking trails with gorgeous scenery! Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and park water. Dogs allowed on Rainbow Falls trail.
