Consisting of 400 restored buildings from the 16th- and 17th-century Spanish colonial period, this area in San Juan is steeped in history with an old-world and romantic European charm.
Old San Juan is beyond charming. There is so much history here, great architecture, landmarks, cobblestone streets, wonderful food, great museums, El Morro and San Cristobol, beautiful parks and plazas and lovely residential streets. We walked everywhere but also rode the free trolley. There are three trolley lines that will take you almost anywhere in the old city. A good place to begin is to stop at one of the many Tourist Information Centers. We found the one directly across from Pier One to be the most helpful. Here we got a list of museums and their hours as well as a self guided walking tour and directions to take the ferry to Casa Bacardi. Don't miss the San Juan Gate, Fortaleza Street, the cathedral, the San Juan Historic Cemetery and the Paseo de la Princesa. Enjoy!

Bohemian, rhythmically Latin, certainly picturesque and, above all, charming.
La Habana is a great City to visit, old cars, great walks, good food and warm people, lots of live music, rum and cigars, history, art and plazas...be sure to hit Plaza de Revolution... The city has it all. The old City take a good day get through ...Sloppy Joe's, Floridita Street, and in modern Havana be sure to see Hotel Nacional and Tropicana. The Capitolo building is a great landmark to start from. If you can go inside, there is one of the largest diamonds in the world encased in the floor.

This rural 13-mile-long lake near the Haiti border is the lowest point in the Caribbean and is a popular tourist attraction for spotting crocodiles.
Lake Enriquillo is a beautiful, hot, and magic spot in the southwest of the Dominican Republic. It is the largest and most hypersaline lake in the Caribbean. The water in the lake can reach hypersaline levels up to 66% higher than sea water. It was previously called Lake Xaragua (Jaragua) after the Taino chiefdom in which it was located. The Lake was formed 10 million years ago when the north island, which was the area toward the Sierra the Neiba’s and the south island, which included Sierra del Bahoruco, le Massif de la Selle, and the Tiburon Peninsula in today Haiti - joined as result of earth movement that formed the Hispaniola island (see photo No. 2). Although arid and harsh, the area is rich in wildlife. Among the fauna: the American flamingos, 61 other species of birds, three species of fishes, and American crocodiles. The Ricord’s and rhinoceros iguana are endemic species. The iguanas are the most welcoming of all the inhabitants in the area. The flora is 10 % endemic and includes cacti, bayahonda, cambrón, guayacán, baitoa, cayucos, melón espinos, and many other species. The journey to the Lake is as exciting as the destination. In our way we cross cities and small towns – San Cristobal, Bani, Azua, Tamayo, Galvan, Neiba, Postrer Rio, Los Rios, Villa Jaragua. During a big part of the trip, the majestic an imposing Sierra del Bahoruco made us company. The physical environment around the Lake is captivating and the sensation of being in a special place is worth the trip. Aruba Aloe, founded in 1890, is one of the few Aloe companies in the world that grows, harvests, and processes its own Aloe on site. This Aloe, considered to be the finest Aloe in the world, is the base of an ever growing collection of premium skin, hair, and sun care products. Pay a visit to the Aruba Aloe Museum, Factory, and Store in Hato for your own free tour, which highlights the history of Aloe cultivation on Aruba and unveils the entire manufacturing process, from the hand cutting of the aloe leaves to the packaging of the final products.
Great trip! We arrived at approximately 10 am and made our way inside of the museum. We were warmly greeted at the front desk, and were surprised to find out that there was no entry fee to access the museum. The Aloe museum provides a free tour, and the tour guide took us to a small room inside of the museum to watch a brief educational video about the history of Aloe on the island of Aruba. There were also several plaques in the same room that contained information about Aloe and the significance it had on the island. The tour guide then took us to an area outside of the museum, where he showed us how the Aloe products were made in the factory, along with their various uses. Outside of the museum were several acres of Aloe, and I was surprised to find out that every time an Aloe leaf is cut off of a plant, the plant has the ability to regenerate itself, and grows back its leaves in a span of about 10 months. The tour guide then took us upstairs, where we got a glimpse of the factory, and saw how the various Aloe products were made. At the conclusion of the tour, there was a gift shop where various Aloe products were available for purchase. Tip: I recommend spending an hour here if you truly want to see everything.

Aquaventure is connected by a lush, tropical environment that is both immersive and interconnected, and perfect for all vacationers, whether young and older. The water park offers an extreme level of excitement and delivers an "aqua" adventure unlike any other.
When planning our trip to the Atlantis resort we weren't sure what was open and what was closed. This review will reflect what was open at Aquaventure during our trip the week of March 20th 2021. Acquaventure water park - The water park was operating at a reduced capacity during our stay. You were always able to find plenty of seating through out the day. The Mayan Temple slides, (Serpent Slide, Challenger Slides, Jungle Slides and The Leap of Faith) were open four days a week (Sun, Mon, Wed, Fri) and the Power Tower slides (The Abyss, The Surge, The Drop and The Falls) and The Current (Rapids River surrounding the Power Tower) were open three days a week (Tues, Thur, Sat). The Splashers pool was open every day. The Baths Colonnade Pool, the pool complexes at the Coral and Beach towers were closed. We were able to use all beaches including the Cove Beach. Lines were minimal at all slides during our week. We had a great time each day at the water slide and other attractions. The lifeguards are fun and entertaining, the pool wait staff hustles and are eager to serve. We want to call out Don one of the pool wait staff! He saw me walking to get food and said what do you want and I’ll get it for you. I said, “we’re sitting way over there, over the river and through the woods” (there wasn’t a food location open where we were sitting) He said no problem! I’ll find you. I gave him our order and he tracked us down, literally over the rapids river and across the beach! He came back later and asked if we needed anything else and then found us the next day again. Use the pool wait staff. They are eager to serve and glad to be back working. Give them a little extra to support them and their family who have just experienced almost a year of no work. There were plenty of pools and attractions open during our stay to ensure the days were eventful. We had a great time at Aquaventure!

Leave the cares of the world behind as you venture over to a private island complimentary to Renaissance Aruba Resort & Casino guests. Renaissance Island features Aruba’s only private beaches and is just an 8-minute water taxi ride away. Here lies a true oasis with family-friendly beaches or beaches just for adults. Pamper yourself at the private Spa Cove, play a game of beachtennis, sit down to the delicious lunch specials at Papagayo Bar & Grill or have a drink at our newly added Mangrove Beach Bar, or just lie back and let the sun caress you. A day on Renaissance Island is a day well spent.
We were on the fence about going here, but this was definitely the highlight of our trip. My s/o and I were interested in visiting on a day pass, but it seemed a little expensive. We knew lunch was included, but to be honest, we had very low expectations on food. Pleasantly surprised does not begin to cover it. They offer two restaurant menus- you can select one of any meal and any drink- and the meals were phenomenal. Our waiter was Luciano, he was super lovely. In addition to beautiful beaches and walking trails that are filled with hermit crabs and lizards, equipment for snorkeling, floating, kayaking, and paddleboarding is all included in the day pass. We found gorgeous fish, a brittle star, and an octopus while snorkeling. Definitely made our trip!!

Puerto Rico's largest mangrove forest. Native Afro-Caribbean food offers an exquisite taste. Nearby is the beach where you can feel the warm waters and also you can explore nature and the cultural experience only Piñones area can offer.
Phones is a great place to hang out with the family on the weekend. Plenty of restaurants, Souvenir shop and music. Dona Olga has good food and family oriented.
