This is a beautiful beach away from the hustle and bustle. The WWII lookout tower is visible as well as a ship wreck. Great place to watch the sunset as you can probably figure out by the name.

We must have come on a perfect day because we saw a bald eagle and ten other species including many hawks, accipiters, and falcons. There were even a few Monarch butterflies left. Lovely day and the staff was knowledgeable and had to quality Swarovski field glasses. To loan out.

This is an interesting area, with both an intriguing shoreline (with a nice collection of stones) and great birding. The downside is the lack of information. There are no posted maps and no marked trails. A few trails had red or yellow diamonds on them, but it wasn't clear what they meant and the symbols eventually petered out. I ended up in some sand dunes worried that I was lost, and had to backtrack. It's a nice, natural area, but is in need of some trail maintenance.

Tasted 5 wines and they were all delicious. Not the sweet crap that so many places on the East Coast. These wines reflect Italy and California, dry with great tannins. Get here early, as the tasting room is small and fills up quick:

Sunset Beach is one of the East Coast's most unique beaches. Voted Top 25 beaches by Trip Advisor in 2013, Sunset Beach is located at the very tip of South Jersey and the end of Sunset Boulevard. Sunset Beach offers an unobstructed view of spectacular sunsets over the waters of the Delaware Bay. Atmospheric conditions caused by the of sea breezes across the bay waters create spectacular colors as the sun sinks below the horizon. For over 50 years just off the coast of Sunset Beach lies the concrete ship "Atlantus". Thousands of visitors come annually to view the cracked, weather beaten hull and watch the sunset over the remains of the ship. You'll love shopping their gift shops, playing a round of mini golf, beachcombing for Cape May diamonds or grabbing a bite to eat at The Grille (Grille open April-October.) Be sure to experience the Evening Flag Ceremony Honoring an American Veteran every evening at 7pm Memorial Weekend through August 31. (Saturdays in September at 6pm)
Stopped here one evening to watch the sunset...afterall, it is "sunset" beach; it gets very crowded and there is little parking; walked into this little shop to see what they had; they have alittle of everything. If you are looking for Cape May trinkets to take home, this is a good place to find something and then some. Then you can walk along the beach, set up your chairs and take it all in.

The beach was very clean and beautiful. Being from North Carolina we do not need tags to go on the beach, so we were kind of shock you have to buy tags to get on the beach before 5pm in New Jersey. Therefore, we walked around the stores til we could get on the beach after 5pm.

Founded in 1975 by the New Jersey Audubon Society, the Observatory takes visitors on birdwatching trips to view more than 400 species of birds during fall migration.
My sisters and I went into the observatory to look for tee shirts. We ended up staying over and hour shopping and talking to the staff. We had questions about owls and some birds we had seen and heard ,which a staff member very willingly researched for us on the spot and answered all our questions. He was even able to imitate their calls for us! We had a blast!
