St. Paul South West Lighthouse

this light house is part of the St. Paul Island Museum

We almost passed up stopping at this small museum and lighthouse. Fortunately we did drop in, as the experience was certainly worthwhile. The museum is small and displays are not extensive but the folks on duty were very chatty and informative about local history. The young woman who led us on a tour of the lighthouse was also well informed and the lighthouse itself is interesting, especially the giant Fresnel lens that focused and projected the light.

Louisbourg Lighthouse

A good 3 mile windy road and gravel road to reach this very nice lighthouse along the coast with the waves crashing against the rocks below, ample parking to walk around the area. Definitely worth a visit especially if you love lighthouses.
