A one-of-a-kind, Swiss-themed miniature golf course in northwest Connecticut, 30 minutes west of Hartford. There's something for everyone at Matterhorn: art to see, bells to ring, fun facts to glean... and all on a colorful, Par 45 course. Our Par 3, 18th hole is a 71' long Alpine Meadow complete with wildflowers (watch out for the groundhogs!). Learn about cheese, chocolate and even the Hadron Collider as you putt your way through 18 holes of adventure in Switzerland. Distant yodeling in the background fades in and out as you cover the half-acre course. Come meet our family of goats - each of which was painted by a local school or artist! (They're fiberglass but still lots of fun...). Family designed, owned and operated since 2015.
This is an adorable mini golf course that is well maintained. The Switzerland theme along with the out-of-this-world detail makes the course very unique. They have fun facts all around and painted goats by local artists and groups. This course is semi-accessible as well.
I really want to give this place a 5, the poor service I received prevents me from doing so. Additionally, the price ($10 - sorry $9.77 for most people) is exorbitant. When she rang us up, I was shocked to have to pay $4 to go in and watch my son play mini golf. When I KINDLY asked why in the world I was being charged to do so, she got super passive aggressive and snapped at me "I have to pay to insure every person that is on the course, so you have to pay to be a 'score keeper'". Sounds like the price of doing business, eh? I figured that cost would be already included in the VERY HIGH price to play the course. She then continued to make sassy comments about how much I will love the course and it is worth it to pay the $4. I paid the $4 to watch my son have a good time and be in the moment with him, not to see your course.
I will never return, but I do suggest that if you enjoy mini golf and don't mind spending crazy amounts of money for it, this place is a must see! If you're on the fence about draining your bank account, try Farmington - they have a more challenging course and good ice cream, too. :)

Complexity: A Puzzling Adventure An Escape Room type activity in Farmington, Connecticut Search the room, Find the clues, Solve the puzzles, Complete the mission! It is a great way to: Celebrate a birthday Engage in team building and be considered awesome for choosing it as your company event.
We had a group of six, five of whom had never done one of these before. It was super fun, everyone contributed to the solution. I can't imagine doing this with a much smaller group, 6 felt like a good number. We thought we would make it without any hints, but in the last few minutes it became clear we needed help - we escaped with maybe 90 seconds to spare. We all agreed we'd like to come back and try one of the other rooms. We did the Cat Burglar room. We were there about an hour and a half in total.

1 master shopper (!) and 2 others. Antique dealers housed in a large, 2-storied, warehouse-size building with good parking right in town. Clean, well lit, organized with a dizzying array of antiques and vintage items in all price points. Our 1 friend decorates beautifully and is always looking for anything that catches her eye and was quite successful. I was going to enjoy browsing but stumbled upon an item I was not expecting to find in CT. Priced well and per my "professional" shopper friend; you'll regret not getting the 1-of-a-kind item; you can always replenish your cash. (I'm kind of careful with my spending.) Bonnie and Colleen work there and are very knowledgeable, helpful and nice.

Despite several reviews that say this is "easy" hike. That should be modified to "if you are young and in shape with no health issues". It is steep, very steep. There is loose gravel and earth for 80% of the pathway, so going down is problematic.
Also those with young children or animals should make sure they can keep them close and away from the many edges into nothingness.

An Enviro-friendly Family-centered Farm with Petting Zoo, alternative energy sources, Earth Products (Mulch, Compost and Comp-soil) division, Farm Shop, Farm-raised fresh eggs and local honey, Pony/Hay-rides, Staycation accommodation, Birthday Parties and Summer Camp programs. Over the past 30 years, driven by Nevin Christensen's eco-environmental vision, Flamig Farm has grown from a modest Egg, Organic Vegetable, and Strawberry Farm into arichly-varied, education and entertainment Farm complex.
The Flamig Farm Halloween Hay Ride begins several weeks before Halloween and ends soon thereafter. Each Hayride seats about a dozen people and follows the same trail through a variety of Halloween scenes with live actors. Some of the effects are scary and may not be appropriate for young children and some seniors. Dress appropriately for an outdoor ride of about an hour duration. Also be sure to pick up some locally baked donuts before or after the ride.

Our rental ramp is located at the end of our parking lot where we launch you into a dammed up section of the Farmington River. No need to drive to another location! You paddle upriver about a mile and a half and then back down to our ramp. Our rental crew will fit you for your PFD and paddle then help you into your boat or onto your board and launch you into the river. We are dog friendly!
From customer service, technical advice, selection, ability to test drive any craft, post sales support, and most importantly it's beautiful location in historic Collinsville on the Farmington River and along the Farmington River Rail to Trail.
I wouldn't purchase anywhere else. Believe me, since 2000 I have purchased five (5) kayaks for various uses.
Check out their semi-annual sale/trade each Spring & Fall!

Not sure I'd risk it with little kids, but 4 teens and 2 solidly-middle-agers managed with only some minor tushie bruises from hidden rocks. We didn't, but several people young and old did get flipped and separated from their tubes...water cool but tame in august so very manageable. Fun day for all!
