Recently I had to cancel our train trip through Italy and Switzerland. I was able to obtain a refund on all the Italian train fares but no changes or refunds are permitted by Swiss rail. Swiss train fares are very high by world standards and while I appreciate the terms are non refundable, Swiss rail gives you no opportunity to purchase a refundable/changeable pass. Take care when purchasing a Swiss rail pass as plans can change.

Visit the old town of Schaffhausen and stay along Europe's largest plain waterfall: The Rhine falls. Enjoy a one hour train ride to Schaffhausen and visit the old town. After a short walk around, we'll continue to Laufen and will visit the castle located at the Rhine water falls. On a walking path, we stay closed at the waterfall and enjoy a boat ride to "the rock", a sightseeing platform in the middle of the waterfall. Our tourguide accompanies you on this tour from the starting point, shows you the changing landscape and answers your questions about the country and its people. The tour guide knows the way and shows you a few places away from the tourist flow.

No issues here so have no concerns that you might be left stranded or that your guide doesn't speak your language or that the tour is somehow altered or changed. However at the price my partner and I were surprised at lack of basic historical facts so check the resume of guide if you are a stickler for detailed knowledge of experiences in this tour.

This busy full day trip shows you the spectacular north of the country. Visit Zürich, Switzerland’s cultural and economic centre, visit the stunning Rhein Falls, Europe’s biggest waterfall and the beautiful Stein am Rhein.This 8 hour tour goes at the pace of the guests and starts at your Luzern or Zürich hotel. Chocolate is one of the many things Switzerland is famous and a stop at the Lindt chocolate factory is included so guest can stock up on some delicious presents for loved ones. A brief city tour of Zürich will show guests the main elements of the town, before heading off to the Rhine Falls to get up close and personal to the torrents of water crashing down along a 100m span of waterfall. After drying oneself, then the finale is a short drive to Stein am Rhine to view the buildings in this old medieval town.

Chris has organized amazing trip around central Switerland for our VIP family of 5. He paid attention to every detail and was extremely helpful. Without him, planning this trip could be very problematic. He also made a surprise for girls' birthdays offering them customized chocolate. He is also very knowledgeable and kind person. Discover our beautiful capital which is part of the World Heritage List and visit a typical farm in the Emmental Cheese area. In the morning we leave Zurich and make our way to Berne – the capital of Switzerland. Guided tour in the old part of town, where we will find the famous Zytglogge – a landmark medieval tower in Berne from the early 13th century, which has served the city as a guard tower, prison, clock tower and has been and still is th centre of the urban life. Discover where Albert Einstein lived, and admire the beautiful view over the historical city centre – which is part of Unesco. Lunch on the way. In the afternoon we continue to the area of Emmental, where the typical Swiss Cheese Emmental comes from. We visit one of the farms, and learn about the life and work of the farmers’ family. Discover how the cheese is made, and learn how many liters of milk a cow gives per day. You will be surprised!
