Nectandra Garden Public Tours Nectandra is open to the public and dedicated to public education. To enhance the enjoyment of our visitors and to minimize the human impact on the forest, the number of visitors permitted entry each day will be limited. We have naturalist-guided tours for a limited number of visitors by reservations. Garden day-tour programs may be tailored according to the visitors’ interests and customized to the visitors’ available time, their interest and physical stamina. The Nectandra walk is approximately 3 hours, through dense forest and undulating terrain. In addition to the informative discourse with our naturalist guides along the way, visitors will have ample chance to hear the sounds of the forest, to observe the fauna and flora, and to experience the serenity of the place. The entrance fee includes the guided tour and a short lecture program. Please inquire about discounts available to education groups by arrangement. Reservation is required. We will only honor reservations with advance payment, or which are confirmed by email 24-48 hours prior to the visit. The Garden is open every day by reservation only, from 8 AM through 3 PM.

El Silencio de Los Angeles Walk - Walk around with your head in the clouds as you step into… the heart of the cloud forest with our own nature interpreters who will unveil a secret world of rich tropical life all along this 3 kilometer user-friendly trail. Located right on the hotel property, the trail was created by our hotel’s professional nature guides and is designed to showcase a variety of tropical flora and fauna as it winds its way throughout this rare and incredibly diverse biosphere. As a part of only 2.5% of the planet’s remaining cloud forests, this unique forest habitat continues to amaze our hotel guests and guides, as well as the trained research scientists from INBio (The National Institute of Biodiversity), who stablished staff the first research station to operate on a hotel property in Costa Rica.
We really enjoyed this cloud forest away from the crowds elsewhere. Beautiful plants, flowers and wildlife.
Outstanding views ,Pacific ocean , mountains, and valleys, spectacular sunsets ,into a natural reserve with trails inside the forest, over springs with an endless collection of flora and fauna. Farm scenario with curiosities and antiques .Fonda with fresh food, pool,wi fi,shacks rental, putting green, into a place blessed by ocean breeze, beaches are in a range of 30 kms and surrounding small villages offer interesting options for us to show folkclore. We are just 15 km west from san ramon alajuela, Costa Rica ,on the panamerican road to puntarenas .
We are a small, 501(c)3 non profit rescue center located just outside of San Ramon, Alajuela. Our primary focus is to rescue, rehabilitate, and, whenever possible, release parrots that have been kept in captivity illegally. It is a pivotal goal of the PRC Mission to release as many birds as possible so that they can fly free. For those that are unable to be released, we provide a permanent home.
