What to do and see in Cannes, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur: The Best Historical & Heritage Tours

November 4, 2021 Sachiko Swiger

Galas, regattas, the Film Festival and an outrageously attractive and affluent set characterize Cannes. Vast yachts obscure the view and the town lives up to its motto, "Life is a festival." People-watching is the activity that brings most visitors to Cannes, and hotel-lined La Croisette provides a fine promenade. First popularized by Coco Chanel, Cannes beaches are a huge draw. Get expensive seaside food and drinks service on hotel sand or opt for the free public beaches, Plages du Midi and de la Boca.

The tour guide Parfait picked us from our hotel. He was very friendly. He stopped at some cool view points and even helped with taking photos. He also shared his knowledge with us about the history behind the places we visited including Chanel. We were on time for the change of guards at palais princier which was very nice. I would have liked some point in Eze to visit the garden. Also it was a shame that the F1 circuit was only opened to bicycles, therefore missed out on this. Overall I would highly recommend this tour.
