The sun-drenched Canary Islands lie close to North Africa and have an exotic flavor of their own. Hundreds of volcanoes, rolling sand dunes, rich forests and rugged cliffs dapple these seven Atlantic gems. Catch a ferry to Lanzarote. Ride a camel through volcanic Timanfaya National Park. Take on Tenerife, home of Mount Teide, Spain's tallest peak. Romp Grand Canary's beaches or hike La Gomera's Garajonay National Park. More adventures await on tiny El Hierro, verdant La Palma and peaceful Fuerteventura.

Thanks to a previous review we came for a visit and I have to admit that we enjoyed everything we were able to see and learn. This place is not well known but it should be due the upmost level of information they present here. One learn to know a lot of flora and fauna (close to my heart) of the island, more about volcanic activity etc. One of the best booths were the one giving a 3-D experience of the nature. For families with small children there could be some hands-on exhibits, but still as it is right now it is highly recommended.

Explore the natural world of the Canary Islands and discover the largest collection of ítems relating to the culture of the Guanches, the original inhabitants of Tenerife before the arrival of the European conquerors.
Excellent museum, detailing the history of the Canary Islands and with some fascinating exhibits - skulls, mummies, cross-section of volcano, archaeological finds, flora and fauna, etc. Well worth a visit.

Advertised as the smallest museum in the world, this is a small building tucked away in town at La Graciosa. If you visit the island and have a bit of time, it is free to enter the museum and worth having a look at.

Great place to have a little insight into the history of Canaries! The caves surprise you as going up the mountain one is not expecting to come across something so peculiar. Once you get to the top, the views are magnificent. Just take into consideration the opening hours as it closes quite early.
