My husband, myself & our 6 year old twins completed this hike last week. The trail is well maintained and even after a rainy day, wasn't too slippery. We hiked at the twins' pace, stopping often to look at slugs, snails, frogs, snakes, etc... taking us 1.5 hours each way. I was hesitant to do this hike with young kids based on other reviews, but am posting this to provide info for other families. While my boys were the youngest on the trail that day, they weren't the only kids and had no issues completing this hike. Definitely worth it - beautiful rain-forest, views, and of course that ultimate view of the Seymour Narrows.

nice walk, even for 13 year old border collie, everybody tried to social distance, so everything was fine.

Back in Campbell River... and apparently the salmon are, too! Seeking information on fishing licences, without interrupting the hustle-and-bustle of the local sports fishing shops, I dropped in to the Campbell River Visitors' Centre, at Spirit Square, to ask about saltwater and freshwater licences for 'aliens'... .* I was surprised at the high level of information provided, even including the names and locations of government departments which might help me campaign for monthly licences for visitors. I was also provided with a print-out of licensing options for foreign tourists and travellers... a very useful table with which to attempt to plan my freshwater and saltwater fly fishing adventures, within very restricted dates and seasons... . Many thanks to Kate for providing an excellent update on fishing licences. * Is BC the only place north of The Great Wall of Mexico where I'm likely to be deemed an alien? Are Canadian federal and provincial governments punishing Aussies for the alleged past sins of US amateur fishermen, who reputedly drove up into BC with freezer trucks?

The venue is impressive with two giant copper stills, a welcoming tasting bar, a leather chair lounge with fireplace, and an excellent tour to explain how the products are made. We didn’t try the flavoured vodkas but the whiskey was yummy, perfect for a cold night by a hot fire!

The seawalk stretches along beautiful beaches and awesome scenery from below the 1st street hill to Frank James Park 4 km away.....along the way there are a couple of pit toilets and one flush restroom so its quite convenient for all.

Wonderful hiking/ walking trails through old growth forest right down to the Campbell River and also to a suspension bridge overlooking Elk Falls. Go early and take the time to do all the trails. Make sure to stop at the small museum for information and the story of the John Hart power station. We met a friendly informative volunteer there who gave us a short history- just the right amount of information! Thanks.

We hit Lower Myra Falls on the hottest day of 2020 and was glad it was a scorcher or we would not have braved the frigid water for a swim! The falls are beautiful and the water is incredibly clear as it cascades through to Buttle Lake below.

Fantastic way to learn more about salmon and their life cycle. Easy access, ample parking, bears and eagles fishing nearby -- it a wonderful place to visit. Highly recommend it.
