Very interesting Island, fully developed for agricultural activities, but they kept tall trees and bamboo groves on the edges to prevent erosion. You can cycle around pretty quickly (1h) but best to take your time. Nice sand banks on the Mekong, relaxed people, glowing rice fields, pomelo plantations, etc. There is a small ethnic Vietnamese floating village on the south side. There is a hotel with a large pool on the northern tip.

Every evening at very near to specific time, thousands of nocturnal bats taking flight from the surrounding caves in a massive formation of dark, black clouds. Be sure to photograph this amazing and staggering sight. This a natural spectacle and is a must must do activity in Cambodia, I doubt if any such activity can be seen anywhere in the world. There are many restaurants around here which provide sitting spaces provided you buy atleast one drink. We opted a restaurant with terrace to get best view and it was a great experience.

A lovely peaceful place just minutes from Banlung. Enjoyed an early morning swim with no crowds, and friendly locals.

Hello everyone, my name is Olga and I live on Koh Rong, a tropical island in the middle of nowhere and I do enjoy it every single moment of my life here. I keep and grow many of the native (and some non-native) plants and animals of interest to me, but the best thing is the knowledge I get to learn, explore and share every day.

The Beach is very nice. Easily accessible from main Pier. There are a few restaurants with different range of prices. Good place to stay longer for party people as there are parties here almost every night. If You are a couple that wants to relax better stay at more quiet places as it is hard to sleep at night.
The beach is amazing, with white sand and clear water. It's quite long so you can enjoy a nice walk, and the beach is really clean.

Against many other recommendations of the island this beach is definitively clean and free from plastic trash on the beach. Many restaurants switched from plastic to glass trinking straw. You can there directly from Sihanoukville for 20$ include a return ticket. We used the buva sea speed boat and had no problems with them. They were just in time and received the coconut beach with multiple stops on other peers (Koh Rong etc) in 1,5 hours.

Our guide and driver took us through an ancient reservoir(no water now) and we saw pretty villages and rice paddies. The sacred Kulen mountain is the birthplace of the Angkorian era.You can only go up the mountain between 8 and 12 and then it's open to travel down. The river contains holy water and is crystal clear making it easy to see the Thousand Lingas carved into the river bed.The river sits at the base of Wat Preah Ang Thom which is an ancient temple. Many people go here to see the giant reclining Buddha only a certain amount at a time as it is very busy.We had to remove our shoes before the final ascent to the temple. We saw here many monks and local people which added to the atmosphere.Down we went and on down many steps to a waterfall where you could swim.People had been advised to wear modest clothing but sadly many stripped off to their underwear,a shame when it is such a holy mountain for the local people. So expect a place that is very busy but beautiful.
