Calgary's only pedestrian mall, Stephen Avenue features a year-round pedestrian experience featuring shopping, restaurants and entertainment venues. It is home to: • 5,000 to 10,000 people per hour in peak times • Live performances, buskers, music, festivals, artists and culture galore • Nine major shopping centres/department stores • Some of Calgary's finest restaurants, pubs, cafés and bars • An eclectic mix of boutiques and galleries Stephen Avenue Walk is managed daily from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm by the Calgary Downtown Association on behalf of the City of Calgary.
When Calgary is in the grip of a cold snap like it is currently, people don't linger on Stephen Avenue Walk, but all the restaurants and attractions on it are still easy to get to. There is quite a lot of indoor parking nearby, and the Plus 15 elevated interior sidewalk system crosses over it and parallels it as several points. By day it is closed to vehicles and in anything but the worst weather, still a nice promenade. After 6 pm, it is open to vehicle traffic and there is some street parking. On our recent visits to downtown Calgary, although we didn't walk its length, we were able to admire it from several vantage points.

First time to this mall. Took the train from Heritage Station and was there in just minutes. The mall is located across from Chinook Station so very easy to get to. Nice variety of stores - large department stores and smaller retailers. Restaurants located throughout the mall so I wasn't restricted to just a food court which is a nice change from what we have in Winnipeg. Mall was clean and nicely laid out.

This is one of my favourite malls in Calgary to meander through and explore. It features a lot of very high-end shops, so I don't do a lot of shopping here, but the food court is quite standard and affordable. For all who visit, the great feature is the gigantic glass dome-ceiling, letting in lots of wonderful light. Just off of the food court is the gorgeous Devonian Gardens with all the tropical plants and blooms. CORE has VERY high standards with respect to COVID protocols and procedures. Plus, something new since my last visit, they have a new system for helping food court patrons sort their compost from their garbage, a video recognition system called Oscar. You show it your items, and it tells you in which bin to toss it. How nifty!

We went there as a family to spend some time esp when it is minus 40 out side. Nice mall to hang around with family . good food court. would expect some more vegan options for food but other than that deals are good. decent place to walk and spend some boredom with little kids.
