Great rainy day activity. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about their product. The shop has glassware as well as whisky. It can get busy if tour buses arrive - we were leaving as one arrived.

The Rock Stop is currently open 10am to 4:30pm every day. The Rock Stop is the central visitor hub for the North West Highlands Geopark. The cafe serves hot and cold drinks, hot lunches, cakes and snacks. The giftshop stocks quality arts and crafts from the local area. The Geopark Exhibition is free to enjoy and focuses on the geology and landscape of the North West Highlands. Local Geopark staff are on hand and happy to chat about the area, what to do and where to go. We offer free wifi and a warm welcome to all travellers, including motorcyclists, cyclists, walkers. Dogs prohibited inside (guide dogs excepted).
It has been a lovely and informative visit. Very friendly staff member and a lot of information about the Geopark. It's worth a visit!

The Flow Country is a large, rolling area of peatland in Caithness and Sutherland in the north of Scotland. It is the largest expanse of blanket bog in Europe and is home to a rich variety of wildlife. Together with associated areas of moorland and open water, large areas of the peatlands are designated as Sites of Special Scientific Interest. They are recognised as being of national importance for conservation both as a habitat in their own right and because of the diverse range of rare and unusual breeding birds they support. At Forsinard you will find our Visitor Centre (April-October) along with two trails and our new boardwalk and Flows Viewing Tower. - Here you will be able to discover more about the peatlands and why they are so special, as well as the opportunity to see some wildlife and take in views of the vast landscape. Our guided walk is on a Friday 2pm-4.45pm but the trails are open to explore at all times!
First class visit. RSPB centre is in the local (small) train station and gives a fascinating overview on this enormous “bog” area and how vital it is to our well being. The short walk through the reserve to the funky viewing tower is lovely and then the views front the top are excellent - well worth a bit of your time.

I love the new self service machines that allow you to borrow books, magazines and dvds without having to wait in a queue to be seen by a member of staff. Also you can order books online using the app and then they'll give you a ring when it's arrived and you can help yourself once they tell you which shelf they leave them on. Very helpful staff and lovely new facilities. Free WiFi and you can use their computers and print things out too.
