The turn for Duncansby Head is just a few hundred metres up the road from John O'Groats in the direction of Wick. After a couple of miles you arrive at a car park (free)near a lighthouse. A short 10-15 minute walk across fields will bring you to the most amazing view of Duncansby stacks. Well worth a visit just for the stacks however we also got to see seals and some great nesting birds on the cliffs.

The U.K's most northerly petting farm and farm shop in the Highlands of Scotland! Come meet the donkeys, goats, pigs, rabbits and more! Open every day 10am-6pm
We loved our visit to the farm and to see and feed the animals. All of the animals had plenty of room and seemed very happy! You could tell even after our short time there that some of the animals are right characters! Would highly recommend a visit here. The shop had a great selection of items to buy from fresh fruit and veg to homemade cakes!

We finished the Cape Wrath Trail and really enjoyed seeing Cape Wrath in the evening when all the tour buses had gone home. We had a nice filling evening meal and loved the newly renovated bunkhouse

Standing amongst some of the most dramatic scenery of the Scottish Highlands are the remains of a brooding castle, thought to have been built in 1590 by the Macleods who had owned Assynt since the 13th century.
A stunning sight just off the main road and can see from the car, few pictures and on our way again.

Dunrobin Castle is the historic home of the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland. The earliest part of the building dates from around 1275 and has a number of later extensions. Your tour begins at the main staircase, which leads to the state rooms on the first floor. These include the Dining Room, set with the family silver, and our Library which has over 10,000 books. You then make your way to the smaller rooms in the older parts of the castle. The Tearoom and Gift Shop can be found on the ground floor. Access to the Gardens is from the Entrance Hall. Our Victorian Museum and Falconry displays can be found in the garden. Falconry displays 11.30am and 2pm daily during the months of April, May, June, July, August and September.
Dunrobin Castle &Gardens are beautifully situated with the castle overlooking the ornately designed gardens, the castle itself is immaculate guides are there to answer any questions you may have giving you a clearer insight of how people lived in those times . A bird of prey display is given at certain times of the day and is well worth watching. This is a castle you must not miss

Have been driving round here for most of my life , scenery is world beating , you cannot go fast , roads are narrow and twisting, so you can appreciate the views, take your time, have a local map so that you can see what you are looking at , you will probably decide to come back and visit one of the points you viewed! Loads of different interesting visits to take in.
